Promo pic of JLin for Adidas TechFit Recovery.
Adidas really gets their bang for the buck with Jeremy. They use him across all of their product lines (ClimaHeat, ClimaChill, TechFit).

He has a higher percentage of female fans compared to the typical NBA player because he's able to reach beyond the typical NBA demographic. Case in point:
Spoiler:
Or the girl who accidentally got a Jeremy Lin tattoo last season due to being the victim of an internet prank and who suddenly became a Jeremy Lin and basketball fan in order to validate her mistaken tattoo, despite the fact that she didn't even like sports previously.
So his fanbase tends to be less of a sausage-fest than that of most NBA players, since he has much broader appeal. Unlike other NBA players whose appeal is more limited to the traditional overwhelmingly male NBA demographics, JLin's ability to reach into other communities and demographics is pretty impressively broad.
And I don't mean the obvious elements like Asians and Asian Americans, or even Christians. He just spoke at the World Economics Forum. He's appeared in more than one White House ad-campaign, whether the anti-domestic violence one or the anti-bullying one more recently. He'll be at the DOTA 2 tournament again this year, though I'm not sure if he's going to be a guest host and game commentator again.
Every one of these instances is a chance for him to convert someone into being a fan, a fan of him and a fan of the team he plays for. Across all these different segments of the population. Whether it's an Ivy League graduate watching him at the World Economics Forum, or a political activist catching one of the the video ads that JLin taped for the White House that they tweet out of the official White House twitter account, or a religious Christian watching his annual televised Christian Testimony in Taiwan, or diehard gamer following his DOTA commentary, or even an anime enthusiast watching Space Jam 3
Linsanity put him on the international map as a global cultural zeitgeist icon beyond the confines of basketball. This very broad appeal and ability to reach into different demographics gives him a chance to draw from a very diverse fanbase. A fanbase with probably more equitable gender distribution than the typical testosterone dominated NBA demographic. If I'm not mistaken, the majority of mods on one of the Lin-centric sites are female. So he has a higher percentage of female fans than the typical NBA player, I think.

In Asia the women happen to show up at airports more than the men but make no mistake, Lin has 10 times as many male fans worldwide than any NBA player not named Kobe. All the women are just gravy.

I wouldn't go that far. That statement seems unnecessarily over the top and inflammatory and possibly untrue. Regardless, it's not something easily verified with numbers and is probably an unproductive avenue of discussion at this time that serves little purpose but to incite pointless arguments that can't really be proven one way or the other.
You're welcome to your opinion, but I'm not sure how widespread it is, nor do I necessarily agree. Anyway, let's not let a tangent like that bog down this thread in pointless pedantry.

On the contrary, the above statement was the inflammatory and probably untrue statement serving only to incite pointless arguments. There exists no proof that Lin has a higher percentage of female fans comparatively and if you disagree, then prove it, otherwise move on please.

One of the Lin-centric sites has a majority female moderating team. There's another website that seems to be almost entirely female and has female contingents flying from other countries into the States to follow the team on road trips, as well as sports tourism visits in Charlotte. And, of course, the airport pictures of female groups. Even the videographer who made the flagrant foul video was female. So there's certainly lots of anecdotal proof, especially when you compare it to the portrayal of fanbases of the other NBA players who don't possess these listed elements.
Anyway, I'm not interested in following your baiting or attempts to incite conflict with deliberately over the top statements for your entertainment. You're welcome to believe whatever you want. Have a nice day.

The more I learn about Lin, the more excited I am for this opportunity. Both the Nets and Lin can benefit from this big time and if Lin nails it as a starter he can help rejuvenate a franchise that has suffered from having players that are hard to root for. Deron Williams was so unlikable and didn't draw fans to the arena. Lin is like the opposite.
Here's to this being Jeremy's final stop and he finds a permanent home with us. I'm rooting for him

Well said. If Jeremy ends up having a terrific start to the season. We might actually see Jeremy outshine Rose's presence in New York.

Thank you mods. Having dealt with a few rabid ones including Jeremy lintel, whom is a rabid hillary democrat, often times they use Jeremy as a pivot to grind their own axes, ideologies etc. Great way to prep the hammer for instajustice

Let's try to keep the political debates in the politics threads instead. I actually found many of Jeremy Lintel's articles to be interesting.
JLin's fan base is so large and diverse that they are not monolithic. They span the political spectrum, as you would expect.
His fans from his hometown Bay Area and from NYC are more statistically likely to lean progressive, liberal, and democratic. SF is a very progressive city. And I think the party registration balance is something like 5 to 1 in favor of Democrats here in NYC. So statistically, most of his fans from these locations lean left.
His fans from the south, bible belt, or whose interest is piqued by his devout Christianity are more likely to lean conservative and republican.
It's no surprise that he numbers among his supporters fans who would support the Democratic ticket and vote Hilary. Heck, even the accidental tattoo girl Holly is anti-Trump.
Just like it's no surprise that he has conservative fans who might be more inclined toward voting Republicn. There's even a youtube/twittter/facebook outlet devoted to him that makes a podcast after every game and uses the moniker "Conservative News Media." I think the podcasts from them have more subscribers and hits than the podcasts from AtTheHive/HiveTalkLive (the Hornets SBN equivalent of Nets Daily).
In terms of politics, Jeremy Lin has appeared in video ad campaigns for Obama's White House on anti-bullying and anti-domestic violence. Not only do Obama and JLin share an alma mater in Harvard, but so did Obama's former Education Secretary and basketball pal Arne Duncan, who dragooned Lin into some events like "Let's Read, Let's Move" and wrote a piece on Lin for Time's 100 most influential people. Lin has also tweeted using the hashtag #blacklivesmatter to draw attention to certain videos, speaking out before Melo/Lebron/CP3 did on the stage (Nets Daily even did a piece on JLin's social justice tweets, long before Melo spoke out on the issue).
Also, did you know that Jeremy Lin has interned for a Democratic Senator, albeit his local state senator, during college? How many NBA players have interned with a senator?
On the other side of the spectrum, he's gotten a lot of praise from the conservative and religious side of the political spectrum for being open about his religion. He's an honestly devout Christian, who created a bible study session when with the Lakers and did bible study with the Hornets, and does an annual Christian Testimonial in Taiwan. He doesn't just give lip service the way a lot of athletes do, but it's a part of who he is. It's not like he professes his religion in front of the camera and then goes and has 10 baby mamas behind the scenes. The wholesome image you see isn't for show. During an interview in college, he even said that if he didn't make it into the NBA, he wants to become a pastor. He gets tons of coverage from religious publications like Christian Post or whatever. Yet, at the same time, he doesn't shove his religion in your face. He even said, I think in reference to some question about the not very religious Nick Young, that it's important to have exposure to non-Christian friends in your circle and understand where they come from and understand his teammates even if they're not Christian. He was very good friends with Omri Casspi who was Jewish.
I actually think he would make a good political candidate, though I don't know if he'll actually follow in the footsteps of Bill Bradley in running for office. I don't think that's his natural inclination to seek the spotlight. He's got that broad cross-party appeal, and he already has a Harvard economics background that would at least give him some intellectual pedigree in a campaign. And he's had experience interning with a senator.
I also like that he's able to handle the media, and even comment diplomatically, insightfully, and inclusively on very divisive hot button issues like he did when faced with the question about police shootings.
Q: Your thoughts on the world today in the wake of all the terrorist attacks and violence.
A: It’s awful. It’s scary. … Civilians getting shot, police getting shot, terrorist attacks, people getting run over. … I don’t even know what to think of it all ’cause it’s just so messed up. I’ve had a lot of questions about [Carmelo Anthony] and whatever. If you want to talk about what Melo’s done, talk about what him, LeBron [James], [Dwyane] Wade and Chris Paul when they got up there and they said what they needed to say, and when they’re asking our nation to stand and be more united. … I’m not black, obviously, but I can relate with a minority. And then I can also relate and understand how important it is to have a functional police and justice system in place to protect us and protect our country. I see like what’s going on on both ends, and it’s like, I’d be scared to be a cop, I’d be scared to be a civilian, I’d be scared to be anybody right now, and that’s just not the way that this country is supposed to be. The whole responding-to-violence-with-violence is one of the worst things that I can think of ’cause it’s just like it just gets crazier and crazier. Anybody who’s given the spotlight or a platform like we’ve been given, there’s that inherent responsibility that we should all carry to try to make this place better.
A politician with cross-party appeal couldn't have answered better.
Anyway, this post is getting really long and rambling.
The point is that he's got fans on both sides of the political spectrum. He's got cross-party appeal. I find nothing wrong with the stuff Jeremy Lintel writes. He's going to have fans who lean left and fans who lean right and those in middle of the political spectrum. You can't avoid it when you're dealing with such a huge and diverse fan base.
Edit: Here's a pic of him with Omri Casspi's sister. I notice he does a lot of the "hover hands" thing when taking pictures with strange females instead of actually touching them. Not sure if it's a Christian modesty thing or an Asian modesty thing or whatever. I heard that a lot of celebrities do that over in Asia.

It's kind of a shame Nash works for the Warriors now, so...not sure about that.
IIRC, Nash has said he's a "make the most of what he has" player (which was plenty damn good enough!). Lin has more explosiveness and strength, at the very least (and also occasional back issues in common with Nash, so hopefully they don't recur), though his shooting is nowhere near Nash's level. The thing is though, Lin's shot form is quite nice now compared to Knicks. So in theory, Lin has all the tools to be an above-average accuracy player. Hopefully it manifests in better accuracy this season.

Lin is so likable it might actually make you sick, LOL
He's just a really, really good dude. Nets fans should rally big time around him (and the rest of the team, of course, should they all prove to have a unified hard-hat-style work ethic and professional Spursian/Hawksian manner).

How much DOES JLin get from Adidas, I wonder? More than he used to, I'd have to guess.
I mean, Harden supposedly gets an actual mid/high-level NBA player's salary from Adidas...at $200M (for 13 freaking years), I wonder how it'll work out for them long-term...

I believe that Nash is just an advisor to the Warriors. I don't think that precludes him from training and helping players from other teams, but I could he wrong.

Nash is also the General Manager of Team Canada basketball. He was in the Philippines earlier in the Summer during the OQFT.
It would make sense that he would work exclusively with the Warriors, but he was only hired as a part-time developmental consultant. I'm not sure if he is allowed to workout with other NBA players after that deal, but he did workout with CJ McCollum last summer. It may have happened though before he committed to the Warriors.

In 2015, Lin made $4 million in endorsements primarily from Adidas, Tag Heuer (has watch designed for him, along with Tom Brady and a few others) and Asian appearance fees. He has mentioned that he's left many endorsements on the table. With his continued Asia popularity he could easily double, triple+ that $4 mill/yr if he wanted.
