Did any of you notice his release is much more fluid? Last season his release had a more hesitant feel. Shooting with confidence is a very good thing to have. Once PJax gave him the green light to shoot 3s to his heart's content, you know he was shooting with confidence.

My prediction of 18/10/2.5 blks is going to come true!

I loved his shooting too but I really don't get why he was hedging off of Anderson so much

Anderson got the better of him in the box score

not acceptable

KP is too good for that

I think another reason KP could be shooting better is that he really focused on making his lower body and core stronger this summer.

Indeed.

Houston is gonna sneak up on some teams, especially early. Obviously, one answer is to game plan better but he should have known better than to let him loose on the perimeter.

Sure. But I'm also correct that he is a low bball IQ chucker, and we shouldn't be expecting him to make smart plays in the paint. What he did last night is pretty much what he does for his career.

yeah he looked good. he looks quick again. I'm just wondering how long does it take to recover from an achilles tear? I thought most people never recover, maybe jennngs was able to because he was still young, 24 years old when he got the injury.

well if BJ is back to his old self, even with the bad decision making his raw talent is better than most back-up PG's. we will win the first guard off the bench match-up more than we lose it.

Can't be a rim protector and guarding the 3 point line at the same time. You can bet O'Quinn kept cheating off the paint, which opens up if he overcommits, which I saw he does over and over. Not much KP's fault, but if he's cheating off Anderson, that opens up.

It shouldn't. O'quinn needs to play better soon. Dude has been a bust here so far. This is NOT nice Kyle.

My comments were specifically about his physicality.

Look - he made two kinds of unforced errors last night. A couple of the dumb shots/decisions that he usually makes and then a few where he made the right play but didn't execute it. An outlet pass that got stolen and a few passes that were off the mark. The former I don't expect him to correct. The latter looked like a guy pushing to play at a pace he hadn't played at in a while and were simply mistimed.

Realistically, what we wanted to see from Jennings is that he had his speed/pace back. The dumb shots - maybe the coaching staff can cut them down over time but probably not. It's who he is. You know that when you got him.

But we didn't know how far back he had come. Now we do. When he gets his reps he'll complete those timing plays and more or less be the player that Detroit fans enjoyed while understanding his limitations.

Bottom line is that Rockets scored mostly off easy passes/lay-ins at the rim and 3-pointers. We have some offense and I think Horn can figure out how to optimize it with smaller lineups and more action. But it will come down to D. Can JoNo get out there and keep the Knick D solid? If so we can win a bunch of games.

Rose was just standing around on D.

One thing I'm looking forward to is players getting more open off those barely legal screens Noah is gonna be setting. Definitely gonna help our offense in a big way.

The thing I loved most about KP's shot last night was that he was taking his time and holding his follow through, last yr it felt like he was trying to shoot too quick and rarely held his follow through.

Was thinking similar, Ive really only seen older players get it and they are always a shell of their former selves afterwards. If he is 90% back he is a steal at 5 mil and will be a better six man than JR, imo.

Noah is soooo crucial to both our offense and defense, and it' scary because who knows how many games he may miss this yr but if he can stay healthy then this team will be VERY VERY good. Last night I saw Kyle get the ball and try to do a few things that I know for sure Noah wouldn't do(like create his own shot, take a transition 3pter, take mid range jumpers, and miss WIDE open easy passes), Noah wouldn't do any of those things and is much better at setting on and off ball screens to help create space or create havoc with the defense because they'll have to switch and rotate. And yes, Porz was helping off his man too much but with the way that Harden was getting into the lane and nobody in the interior to play halfway decent defense, I can't put too much blame on him for that. Having Noah in there I'm sure Porz wouldn't have to rotate as much.

Kyle Oquin continues to hurt the Knicks again with no defensive instincts and constant fouling.

Carmelo isn't the guy anymore. The sooner he realizes this.. The better the team will play.. I can't watch his offensive fouls, driving straight into 3 defenders and getting stuffed, taking high difficulty mid range shots... The Knicks have a lot of guys around him who can get the ball in the basket now.. Carmelo should be more of a passer and rebounder like we all know he can be.. Let's play more team baskatebll.. Get guys like Porzingis and Courtney lee more shots..

I liked the way Derrick Rose played.. Clearly he was still rusty.. But he is 27 times better then any other point guard we had the last few years..(Felton, Sasha, Calderon, Douglas)

Porzingis is looking bright.. He is the best part of the Knicks by far.. (Most valuable, most watchable, most liked) I see him being a better "Kevin love" that has defense and shot blocking.

My issue is KP is a swiss army knife he makes a strong duo with just about anyone on the team. Melo/KP-fire, KP/Jennings-fire second unit, Willie/KP, Noah/KP etc. BJ needs to be playing with the 1's more imho. Rose would be a nice spark with the bench unit for instant offense. Still not impressed by his ability to play the PG position still plays like a 2. I need to see Rose make others around him better(not KP). Second preseason game should be interesting.
