Laquon Treadwell - WR - Vikings

Vikings first-round WR Laquon Treadwell played zero offensive snaps Week 1 against the Titans.

This likely isn't what the Vikings had in mind when they took Treadwell with the 23rd overall pick in the draft. He was unable to unseat Charles Johnson opposite Stefon Diggs, and now has tumbled all the way down the depth chart behind guys like Adam Thielen and former first-round bust Cordarrelle Patterson. Treadwell shouldn't be owned in 12- and 14-team redraft leagues.

Laquon Treadwell - WR - Vikings

Vikings first-round WR Laquon Treadwell said not playing any snaps Week 1 was "mentally challenging."

Treadwell was active for the game, but did not see any snaps and appeared to be behind Cordarrelle Patterson on the depth chart. "You’ve got to go through it, create some fuel, I guess, to play harder," Treadwell said. "I don’t know. I’ve never been through this. I’ll just come in and work harder and get better." The good news is Charles Johnson struggled to get open against the Titans, perhaps opening the door for the rookie to earn some playing time. Even so, he does not need to be owned in redraft leagues.

Tajae Sharpe - WR - Titans

Tajae Sharpe has "earned the trust of the coaching staff."

Sharpe’s support was never in doubt, but Week 1 confirmed his leading role over Rishard Matthews. He should continue out-targeting both Matthews and Delanie Walker. Sharpe is Marcus Mariota’s go-to option, but there’s not huge upside in Tennessee’s pass offense.

Carson Wentz is expected to play the "bulk" of the second half in Thursday's preseason opener.

Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel will split up reps in the first half, leaving Wentz as a distant third for the second. It's unclear when/if Wentz will get any live first-team reps this preseason. The Eagles' best-laid plan includes Wentz spending the entire year as their No. 3 quarterback, but we'll believe it when we see it.

Future-bust Wentz didn't impress in the least, as far as I heard. Numbers were bad. Nobody's expecting much from him as a rook, but that won't stop me from ragging on him. :D

Yeah, not a good start for my bust prediction. Let's see how the year goes; when defenses adjust to what you do, then your adjustments make or break your career. RGIII couldn't do it; Kaepernick couldn't do it. WIll Wentz be able to? If he does, I'll come here & eat crow with BBQ sauce.

Noah Spence - DL - Buccaneers

Bucs DE Noah Spence (shoulder) is listed a questionable for Week 5 against the Panthers.

Spence got in a limited practice Saturday after sitting out Thursday and Friday. With Gerald McCoy, Robert Ayers, and Clinton McDonald doubtful -- really out -- the Bucs need Spence on the field if possible. Spence suffered a dislocated right shoulder and labrum tear last Sunday.

Beast!!

Joey Bosa - DL - Chargers

Chargers DE Joey Bosa recorded two sacks and three tackles for loss in his NFL debut Week 5 against the Raiders.

"It’s nice to get the butterflies out because I was pretty nervous coming into this game," Bosa said. "There was a lot tension leading up to this moment. But I’m happy with the way that I played." A ridiculous contract standoff and a hamstring injury delayed Bosa's debut, but he immediately made an impact on the field in just 22 defensive snaps. His role will certainly grow moving forward.

You mean it wasn't time to panic because he was a little late signing his contract?

Some of the posts about this guy were unbelievable. NFL fans typically have the memories of goldfish and the long-term vision of moles.

Kevin Dodd - LB - Titans

Titans second-round OLB Kevin Dodd was added to the injury report as questionable with a foot injury.

It is concerning after Dodd underwent "preventative" surgery on his right foot in May. It is unclear if this injury is to the same foot, but the timing of his addition to the injury report suggests he suffered a setback Friday. Dodd has one sack in 137 snaps this season.

Maliek Collins, one of my draft crushes, had 2 sacks for Dallas today. :(

Granted: it was against the Browns, but still a good game.

Jared Goff - QB - Rams

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Jared Goff won't see the field until the Rams are eliminated from playoff contention.

"My understanding of the Rams quarterback situation," Rapoport said, "is that they're not going to make a switch -- barring some sort of epic collapse by Case Keenum -- until they fall out of playoff contention." Rapoport's colleague Steve Wyche stated the Rams "simply don't believe Goff is ready to play," which was evident in preseason games. The 3-5 Rams will be knocked out of playoff contention soon. They have no running game and essentially no passing game, are overrated on defense, and are poorly coached.

Cody Kessler - QB - Browns

Cody Kessler will remain the Browns' quarterback for Thursday's game against the Ravens.

Kessler was bad in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, but coach Hue Jackson doesn't want to play "musical chairs" at quarterback. Jackson also stated flat out that Kessler wasn't good enough against Dallas. Kessler won't be a viable streamer against the Ravens.

Robert Nkemdiche - DL - Cardinals

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians called out DE Robert Nkemdiche for his lack of work ethic.

The first-round rookie has played just 45 snaps this season and has been a healthy scratch the last two weeks. "Talent, not an issue," said Arians Wednesday. "Maturity is. It's just maturing." When asked if Nkemdiche's situation was similar to what the Cardinals went through with D.J. Humphries last year, Arians said, "D.J. worked harder." Nkemdiche was expected to go in the top 10 at this year's draft but fell all the way to 29th as teams got scared off by some of the off-field issues he encountered at Ole Miss. It might be a while before he's out of Arians' doghouse.

Connor Cook - QB - Raiders

Coach Jack Del Rio confirmed on Wednesday that Connor Cook will start at quarterback in Saturday's Wild Card game against the Texans.

Matt McGloin injured his shoulder in the first half of last week's loss to the Broncos and won't be ready on a short week. Cook completed 14-of-21 passes for 150 yards, one touchdown, and one pick in relief, and Saturday will be his first NFL start. He'll be the first quarterback ever to make his first career start in a playoff game. It figures to be an ugly one with Cook and Brock Osweiler.

Christian Hackenberg - QB - Jets

Speaking to the New York Daily News, a Jets source says second-round rookie Christian Hackenberg will "never make it."

"Never," the source emphasized. Hackenberg was a topic of discussion on Thursday after owner Woody Johnson called him a "prospect." Reporter Manish Mehta says he recently asked an anonymous Jets starter if Hackenberg was worth a second-round pick and received a curt "no" in reply. The fact that Hackenberg couldn't get on the field in a lost year where Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith and Bryce Petty were all either injured or ineffective — usually at the same time — says all there is to know about Hack's NFL future.
