Re: Political Roundtable Part XI
That's the CNN "leak", other sources claim it also wraps in to the Wikileaks. At this point who knows, but it would have to be extremely serious to reopen a closed case this close to an election. This was not a decision Comey came to solo.
It's Clinton's fault, Comey may have wanted to use the Wikileaks emails including Abedin/Clinton but couldn't politically use that source. She wrote the emails, she took the foreign money....and if it took seizing Abedin's home PC to make it happen it makes this hold up under scrutiny. Clinton can't blame "Russia".
I've just had enough of her blaming everyone but herself for emails/schemes her/her staff dreamt up.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XI
I was perhaps moderately unfair to Comey in that his letter was notification for an emendation to sworn testimony but he's not reopening **** and the letter doesn't suggest that he is.

He most certainly is, determining relevance to *new evidence* to a closed case is by legal definition reopening. It doesn't mean a new trial, but analyzing new evidence in relation to a formerly dismissed matter is known as reopening a case.
My ventures have been in too many court cases, this sounds like the equivalent of a 60b motion, new evidence. Reopened.

Imagine the ****storm if it was leaked that the FBI had additional emails that they hadn't told anyone about. The notice sounds like something that may just be routine in such circumstances, or maybe just a prudent CYA. I don't need to jump to any conclusions at this point, I've already seen a lot of dirt.

So more details leaking, Abedin had a shared PC with Weiner. Her private email server credentials remained on that PC, as a result years of all her correspondence were retrieved.
We can safely assume many of the missing emails are contained within, and it helped the Feds as they were never going to legally be allowed to use Wikileaks info in court.
Crazy election.
*if they used POP3 settings (not IMAP)...EVERYTHING would remain even if the emails were wiped on the server. Or it was a Mac with Time Machine, or simply a routine weekly PST backup. Any of those scenarios save all the emails, and all of them will take months to sift through.....like in any discovery process in a standard legal case.

Hopefully PR here means public relations, but with Trump, you never can tell.

The Weiner thing is funny, but the "optics" (love that word) for this entire investigation now partially are viewed through Anthony Weiner. Not a good look.
Joe Biden's reaction says it all. Even attempting to defend this invites disaster for anyone with Weiner involved.

How things change. 4 days ago Comey was called a great patriot and man with flawless record etc etc by the Clinton camp.
Today, he's being accused of spying for Russia to get Trump elected. Lots of other news dropping today, and Weiner is apparently already in Witness Protection.
House of Cards Season 3 is going to drastically underperform.
