Getting their doors blown off right now. If anything happens to Lin that team may not win another game all season. Really good signing for them but he has little to no help. Guy has to stand on his head all season

I don't now how much better this Nets team is going to look. Looks like Chicago has been the only team on their schedule that hasn't overlooked them so far.

Ugliest I've seen them play. Spacing is terrible, hero ball, nonexistent defense. I'm starting to wonder if Whitehead and RHJ are more athletes than basketball players. Let's hope Marks is smart and trades his assets ensuring a better pick next draft. They really need to recoup some picks and have pieces that can be moved to do so. I doubt they move Lin though because they have to have at least someone to move forward with and he's inexpensive. But if a playoff team has a catastrophic loss at PG due to injury they could get a good package in return. I want to see more losses like this so I can breathe easier.

Y'all were trying to tell me this team is going to be decent. Lmao.

Shout out to Prok (the poster), he's the most intelligent member of that board by far, but this team isn't winning 24 games.

It's one thing to come out of the gates with energy and enthusiasm

It's another thing entirely to sustain that over the course of 82 games. How much incentive to play hard are these guys going to have if their record becomes 5-20 or something. Other than a few players on one year deals, they could just start going through the motions.

Good win by the Bulls

They have as little defensive talent top to bottom as any team I've seen. As such, they have to ride RHJ despite being a complete zero on offense because their other swings are guys like Harris and Bogdanovich who couldn't even send scouts their pre-draft "defending a chair" videos because the chair won. Booker is also nothing more than a plugger, while Brook is marginalized in the new offense, so you're basically counting on Lin and Bogs being hot out of the gate or face a big early deficit, after which you're then hoping the Harris and Hamilton-types are hot to keep it semi-close, except they can't defend so, yeah, I'm not worried about this team.

my guess is these first 3 games are a microcosm of their season. an occasional home win against the dregs of the league, but losing to good teams and losing most of their road games. 21 wins

Remember last season when people here would freak out and claim the Nets weren't that bad every time they would win a game last year despite the fact that they pretty clearly sucked balls and would finish as a bottom team in the league? I have a feeling this season will be a repeat.

Keep in mind, the teams ahead of BKN in the reverse order has had a tougher schedule so far.

4 genuinely bad teams are BKN, Philly, LAL, and Phoenix. Those are my worries. Think Milwaukee has an outside shot of falling apart at the seams as well. Phoenix could pick it up, but their upside is 30s. BKN probably projects out at 24-25 wins.

Will Philly really be that bad? When is Simmons back?

LA also have some good young talent. Maybe the Nets win more games based on their experience but, man, Philly and LA have much better talent on paper.

Phoenix are probably the worst team in the league as of now. I can't see them winning more than Brooklyn. Orlando are in a shambles too.

Philly is about to pick up 2 top 5 draft picks this year. They need a veteran all-star on that team desperately. Their average age on that roster is like 6 years old. They'll have the pieces to make a real trade soon.

Playing hard gets pretty old when you continue to get your ass kicked most nights. I expect a long losing streak for them once the roster is properly demoralized.

I think Orlando is down ther with them. Miami will also be horrible this year.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I don't really see that happening though. Maybe Lin mails it in a bit or Lopez rests a bit, but the rest of their roster is guys scrapping to stick in the league. They may play selfish at times as a result, but I suspect the compete level will be pretty high. Thankfully, there's probably 20 teams in the league who are just soooo much more talented than them that they can play 15-25 minutes against the Nets in a sleepwalk and still win. We saw that with our own team the one time we've played - we basically played 25-30 minutes of decent ball and put them away.
