I saw it coming thats why I didn't bother watching a single second of this game.
I may only watch them against bad teams because we have little chance of beating good teams due to having **** defense, selfish players and whatever **** system we running that produces low percentage shot after low percentage shot. Knicks offense looks like **** that si being run in your local park.

I mean it's happening all game, he should be living there the way he's attacking people are talking about him blowing layups but it's probably because he should be at the line most times. Him and Porzingis need to develop some chemistry no idea why Noah always sets the screen no one will defend him to Roll or pop
I ask myself the same question
He doesn't flop his head around. Refs haven't given Rose respect for years now. People jerk their head back and its two shots. Rose goes to the rack and gets hit in the air and it's a clean play every time. Ridiculous
Even in his MVP year people complained about his efficiency but even then he only got to the line 6 times a game. I could understand if he was shooting jumpers like last year but he's been attacking non stop especially last night

But the Knicks ran screen and rolls plenty last night. The Rockets just knew how to defend it while the Knicks don't. Plus James Harden's performance should not be understated. He was brilliant.

How many times did we see Melo in the pinch post in Isolation? Do you watch to see how that play develops?
Melo becomes the fall back option because nothing else develops on the other side, so we keep seeing the same Melo Iso play over and over and over again. It's all coming out of the attempt to run triangle.
The Big at the top dishes it to Melo on the elbow and evrybody stays still. What is supposed to happen is they screen so the shooter and go to the three point line and melo can drive and dish or shoot. Nobody is getting the shooter open on the weak side. It isnt the normal pinch post you would see in the triangle. Just the type of set they were standing in. You could see them do it in the 4th when Ron Baker checked in.
It actually is the triangle, the problem is that Melo never makes this type of read and pass to the cutting guard
You see how quickly Gasol gave the ball back to the cutting guard, Melo NEVER does that. He waits for the guard to cut then he turns around and faces the basket, looks to see what develops on the other side, sees nothing happening and he proceeds to go into his 1 on 1 offense.
I've never seen the guard cut behind Melo after giving him the ball down there. usually it's Noah that gives Melo the ball there. It's not the triangle.

You never saw Rose/Jennings feed Melo the ball and curl around him like that? I have
The triangle has different ways of feeding the pinch post, sometimes it comes from the Center who then runs to set a screen for a shooter or cutter and sometimes it comes from the guard who curls around the post player. There are different options

I really dont see us winning more than 16 games this team is that bad, and by December -January phil will realise this and blow it up like he did with jr and the shumpert trades.

even if the knicks get a top pick, melo is going to stunt it's growth by going iso all the time.

Why cut if you know you won't get it back.

No...? Thats just me?
They know there's no point to trying to get open. Melo is a black hole that sucks the life force out of a team.

If the Knicks are that bad, there's a good chance he requests a trade midseason. Return won't be great.

Not often and if they do it's down the lane and out to the weak side three point line like the flex ISO plays Horny ran in PHX. But I see what you're saying. This should be avoided because Melo is just using it as a chance for his ISO plays and it stalls movement. Should only happen if he has a mismatch or it's last shot of a quarter.

I'll happily bash both. Here goes.
Melo is the most overrated player I've ever watched play the game. He's a black hole on offense. Plays no defense. He can't jump. He can't drive. He destroys any and all team concepts coaches try to implement. He literally sucks the will to win out of his teammates, making them all worse. He's the anti-LeBron.
KP is soft. He actually weighs less now than a year ago. He's less aggressive. He doesn't box out nearly as well. His team defense is a joke. He cannot cover the perimeter. He floats around on offense and never commands the ball. He has no go to move in the post or anywhere on the court. His "savior" status is on hold for now.

Can we scrap the triangle offense/defense and try Melo at PF, Woody-style, before we blow it up and tank?
Holiday & Lee in the starting lineup would really spread the floor and they are versatile, very solid defenders.
