11-5-16 UFC Fight Night/Dos Anos vs Ferguson

Post#1 » by ShowtimeFan » Fri Nov 4, 2016 5:45 am

The #2 & #3 Lightweights are fighting each other in the main event.

Who do you think will win?

Dos Anos lost his last fight but had won 10 out 0f 12 before that.
Ferguson has won 8 in a row,
but I think Dos Anos has been fighting stiffer competition.

I don't really have anything against Dos Anos, but he doesn't have much of a personality, I like Ferguson, seems more genuine and for that reason, I'm hoping he wins.

Another interesting match-up is listed as the 5th card (down), with Dariush (ranked #9) with a 13-2 record fighting the #15 ranked Magomedov who is 19-1, this should be a fun match as both of these guys are atheletic and hungry to move up!

cheers..

Finally! A UFC Event!

Main event has all the potential to be FOTN, Ferguson has always been quite the a-hole, and I'm a fan of of RDA, so hoping RDA gets the win. Another fighter from Kings, Beneil Dariush , is one of my favourites in the UFC but I think Magomendov is going to be a very tough matchup. Erik Perez is another fighter I enjoy watching, and is also involved in an interesting matchup.

Lastly...Is anyone else not interested in seeing Diego Sanchez fight anymore? Just don't want to see him take anymore damage.

Charles Oliveira misses weight by nine pounds

The Brazilian marked 155 pounds on the scale on Friday, surpassing the 146-pound allowance for non-title featherweight bouts by nine pounds. Despite the significant weight difference, Lamas, who weighed in at 146 pounds, has agreed to take the bout at a catchweight, and Oliveira will now have to give 30 percent of his purse to Lamas, MMA Fighting confirmed on Friday with UFC officials.

This is the fourth time Oliveira misses weight in his six-year-long career with the UFC. The fight between Oliveira and Lamas was booked less than a month away from the event, as Lamas was originally scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night 97 against B.J. Penn, but the event was cancelled after Penn pulled of of the fight due to injury. Lamas was shortly rescheduled to fight Oliveira in Mexico.

Sucks for Lamas, can't really turn down the fight and waste two straight training camps. Oliveira should fight at 155 or be cut, tbh possibly just cut.

Reebok doesn't have a white cotton undershirt that Alex Nicholson can wear? Pre-stained with some chewing tobacco?

LOl...the contrast with Alvey. Sam never has animosity, has a crew 1-deep...consisting of his wife, and his posturing consists of big stupid grins.

9 pounds?!?! He posted this picture a couple days before the weigh-ins.

Learned to not even try to make weight to hopefully get a cheap win like his fellow Brazilian and namesake Alex Oliveira. 30% exchanged is a joke. It should have been about 75% and it'd still be questionable if Lamas took the fight.

Not a sexy card, but some good "middle" weight match-ups. Go Alvey, Soto, and Held. Hard to believe Alvey is on a FS1 Fight Pass portion after a two-fight win streak and being something of a fan favorite. RDA and El Cucuy aren't in my eyes. Hopefully it's a slobber-knocker, and whatever happens happens. Gun to head, hopefully El Cucuy wins.

I believe he spent his training camp at Kings, I do know he's opening his own gym and I'm assuming he will be leaving them after this fight, at least to my knowledge.

Dariush and RDA have been training together for their upcoming fights, with Werdum as well, So he's still spending time at Kings or with the members of that camp, at least.

Some thoughts regarding the event so far...

Avila is not ready for the UFC, and he's look terrible both fights he's had. I doubt he stays on much longer at this point, and if it wasn't for the Diaz bros I doubt he would even be with the organization in the first place.

lol at Brian Stann saying Marco Polo Reyes is a future headliner. But Stann did an amazing job calling that fight and predicting Novelli's takedown at the exact time he went for the shoot lol.

Nicholson simply gassed out which was funny considering how cocky he was after the first round saying "I'm not even tired" and deciding against sitting on the stool hahaha.

De Andrade and Briones was a wild one, very exciting fight during some parts. Briones taking a straight jab after that flying knee lmaooo

Max Griffin with an impressive , quick finish.

And I really hope Oliveria loses. Gave no f*ucks.

LOL wtf does this Alexa Grasso chick really walk to the cage in her gi / blue belt?

That'd be like Machida walking to the cage with his kimono and karate yellow belt. haha.

Guilherme Cruz reporting that Charles Oliveira struggled to make the 165 limit for his fight tonight.

What a joke. You can keep both Oliveiras as far as I care.

The Just Bleed fans were in full effect during that fight. Hopefully the judges give the win to Dariush, who i thought was the clear winner despite Stann constantly mentioning how close of a contest it was.

Lamas saved by the bell. Also a good example of what Rogan/Bravo are always talking about where guys are lucky they don't still have elbows to the back of the head from back control. Oliveira was doing a weird side elbow thing to the side of his face and Lamas was notttt liking that at all.
