Right?

This is the search query -
In a single game, from 1983-84 to 2016-17, in the regular season, requiring 3-Pt Field Goals >= 4 and 3-Pt Field Goal Attempts >= 4, sorted by descending Points

However, looking at their positions I think it must be specific to Centers?

And I say again that I think Embiid has a chance to be arguably the greatest center ever if he can stay healthy and play starters minutes.

For the first time in a while there are things to be excited about as a Sixers fan. But I will say if something bad happens with this guys health... Man that would hurt.

Really? As if Kareem, Wilt, Russell, Shaq, etc.. just paled in comparison their rookie season? Towns and Embiid are being really overrated.

He's having a great season, especially after his injuries, but lets pump the breaks. these guys were MUCH MUCH better as rookies.

If this dude stays healthy , skys the limit for him . Good to see a true old school center back in the game. Cousins was bored all by himself. Still not a fan of them both taking threes , but what are you going to do...the league has changed unfortunetly. Hope embiid takes the league over tho.

Embiid looks great. Really wonder if they go all in with the twin towers thing with him and Okafor. Okafor had 14/5 with 3 blocks in just 23 minutes tonight. It seems like their games can be pretty compatible with Embiid being able to space the floor on offense and just have Embiid guard the more athletic big. That could be a pretty scary front court and Simmons should be able to rack up the assists playing with 2 bigs that can score with as much ease as those 2 big men

Common man, even as a 6ers home this is a ridiculous sentence to read. Here I'll knock him right now....His turnovers down the stretch in the 3 close games we had are bit of an eye opener when it comes to his basketball IQ. That is one thing that people haven't touched on. The kid hasn't played ball his entire life like most NBA players have and will always have an uphill battle when it comes to certain intangible things.

Well, I disagree. Joel has by all accounts a high basketball IQ but makes some ill-advised mistakes/passes since he is not used to a 5-to-5 setting. Again, he was out for more than two years and was mostly restricted to shooting and light work outs. Once he has more experience under his belt, he will read the defense rotations much better.
If you see how he patrols the paint and makes instructions when he asks for entry passes, you get an idea that he understands the game very well. He just needs a little bit more time.

He's almost a 25/10 guy whilst under minutes restrictions so, hell yeah, 25/10 easy it would seem so far!

I can't get enough of watching Embiid. I'm a Celtics fan living in England and I continually stay up until 1am to watch him play, even in the preseason

Soon defenders are going to have to start guarding Embiid closely on the 3pt Line which frees up the offense for the rest of his team, it's not old school but it's super effective at getting you wins.

Embiid makes a lot of bad decisions, but also a lot of really great decisions. It's similar to the way he runs the court, he's a bit all over the place and looks a bit goofy maybe? But then he receives an entry pass and proceeds to destroy the defence, or blocks the hell out of an impossible shot.

Joel Embiid is a great story. If you think about it, he's really only played basketball for about 5-6 years of his entire life. He was a soccer player and volleyball player from Cameroon. He got inured in Kansas and got injured in the NBA and had very little experience going up against top level basketball talent. Then he reinjures his foot, his brother is killed back in Cameroon, he's endured a lot.

Obviously his skill level is immense, but for him to come in and dominate the level he's dominated factoring in how little experience in his life he actually has playing basketball is remarkable. He still hasn't scratched the surface of his talent, and he's already the team's best player by a wide margin, taking over games, and basically at the end of Saturday's game the Cavs said they wanted anyone but Embiid to touch the ball on the final possession. So he's already getting full attention of the opposition already.

If he can stay healthy, I don't know how you stop him. He's 7'2, with an impressive physique, shoots like a guard, moves and ball handles like a small forward, and has incredible post moves. He needs to work on things like rebound positioning, help defense and positioning, and passing out of double teams, but that will come with time.

I hope everyone enjoys watching him play, because he's a great story and he's good for the league. Can't wait to see him and Simmons work together and build chemistry.

Thank you for proving my point. Embiid has only played about 4 years of basketball and youn already see how advanced he is. The turnovers happen because he is still learning.

Those other guys played basketball their entire lives unlike Embiid. Embiid still has so much room to grow. Embiid is a beast.

You're getting carried away with the hyperbole. This makes the rest of us 76er fans look insane on the General board.

** But I will say this: I thought this thread was unnecessary at 1st, because there is a rookie thread. But I see now that Embiid is so much better than every other rookie, he doesn't even get mentioned that much over there. That thread is now a "best of the rest" argument.
