Based on the fact that it is skill/read based. Veteran type of play. It's not at all unreasonable to think he won't regress until he is 32 or so and hopefully even improve some of his other skills as he as been doing.

I would think so, but I'd also like to see how he reacts as his shooting normalizes and he isn't hanging 30+ every night, what the defenses do, etc, etc. The skills do strike me as likely to endure. We'll see. We'll also see how he handles the playoffs.

He's obviously still running hot but ya, I think his game has changed.

This!

Was talking to a friend about this exact thing the other day. He gets to the same spots on the floor as he used to in years past but its what he does once he gets there that has changed a lot this year. He is reading the defence much better and taking the shots that he is comfortable with instead of letting the defenders dictate where he goes.

A few things I really like about his game now is that he is aware of who is guarding him now. Small defender? goes right into the post and looks to either draw the contact of use his size to get as close to the bucket as possible. Bigger defender? added things like the side step to create space and get open looks or uses his great pump fake to get them off the floor so he could either drive to the hoop or draw contact.

I have been watching DeMar play since he got drafted to our team and I can honestly say he has never looked this fluid and composed on the ball court. In years past he was really questioned in his ability to close out games because it seemed like he would take an ill advised shot or dribble the ball off his foot out of bounds. Comparing his late game decisions this year to those of years past is a night and day difference. I hope he can keep it up, I wish nothing but the best for him because he is one of the most humble and deserving players in the league. #ProveEM

Uh, I asked you to let me get ahead of myself! Couldn't we just live in that universe for just this moment.
I am also anxiously waiting on a game by game, shot by shot basis to see where this rise ends up leaving him.

Me? I'm just going to enjoy watching him while he's up. :D

Yeah, this quote pretty much confirms DeRozan is Kobe-lite. Ujiri needs to trade for a 3rd all-star NOW.

Strange to think that not long ago fans of various teams were praying their respective teams wouldn't offer DeRozan a max contract after his playoff performance.

Yeah refs are messing with him still. Refs are messing with all of the Raptors. They almost killed Cojo just now.

EDIT: They called the foul. Didn't even realize...that's how bad it is. DeRozan will get to the line in the fourth....trust me on that.

Yeah one of the refs bet his paycheque on this game. Its disappointing to see this knowing that refs could be fixing games and ruinin a good matchup. Demar had taken more 3s as a result of not getting calls.

Please tell me which of these players he is better than:

Lebron
Curry
Durant
Leonard
Westbrook
Chris Paul
Anthony Davis
Paul George
Harden
Lillard

He is going through a hot streak, he will cool down soon.

After 10 games and a record of 7-3, hes better than anthony davis paul george and lillard in terms of his numbers and team record. its a small sample but its def worth considering.

I wish Demar had the mentality of (current) D Wade. Far too often Demar is willing to shoot over 2-3 people instead of recognizing that the other team is so scared of him, they are probably ignoring someone else. He cloud legit average 6 assists per game if he was more willing to pass the ball. That would also relieve pressure on him if the help defender's man (usually JV) is scoring well as well.

He's making those contested shots, now, but the game would open up for him more if defenders had to think about the pass just as much as the shot

Instead I was thinking how good a defender George Hill is (and so was Utah) and how good a defender Paul George is.
