Was at the game tonight and sat close to the Magic bench. This was interesting. I saw an argument between Ibaka and Green. Green told Ibaka to pass the ball, Ibaka said he did, Green said, "you shoot all the time." Biyombo came in yelling saying we are all in this together and not to act like little kids. Brought everyone together. AG was shaking his head in agreement. Payton stared at floor entire time. I took some curse words out. The very next offensive play was a Jeff Green hard take to the rim (Not the poster, my B).

The Payton and Fournier dynamic on the court is troubling. These two seem to be counter acting each other on offense. Fournier tries to play like the point guard when Payton is on the court but plays traditional SG when DJ is there.

DJ is killing the pick and roll game and Id be willing to play him and Fournier together more so Fournier stops driving almost all together and get him and Payton separated.

Payton and Gordon look depressed all night.

I'll take the W but we are going to get blown out on Monday. Bucks almost just beat the Warriors. We are gonna get destroyed if we play the same way we have(which we will) and then k feel Vogel is going to make the need to change things up. It's good to have this temporary victory though. Been a while since we were 7th seed.....even though it doesn't feel like it.

Ibaka does seem like the outsider on this team.

I've seen Ibaka get into heated arguments several times lately when heading to the bench during a timeout. I know I've seen him and Fournier in particular go at it a few times for sure, and every time Biz steps between them. It really seems like we have a team of a couple of guys like Fournier, Ibaka, and Vuc who think everything should go through them and that they are the star, and then a bunch of other guys who are just losers and quit easily. There are a few guys like Biz and AG who I think really try all the time and are good teammates, but that's probably it.

I know it's hard to tell how a team will gel, so I really don't want to blame anybody in particular, but I do think this is a big issue that needs to be addressed. It's been over a month and a half since training camp, this team should have come together much more than they have by now. There are things that are not working, and if the Magic really want to fight for a playoff spot, those issues need to be addressed. They are not going to keep playing teams like the Pelicans and Mavericks who are missing key players, this team will get eaten alive by almost every team out there.

we need an alpha dog ! We're missing the leader on the floor . Until then it's going to take a long time for these guys to trust each other on offense . The only good thing is that the defense looks better .

It's not even winning the lottery either. We were one pick from Porzingis (who we would have taken if the accounts of Rob being the first on his potential are to be believed). If he's on this roster right now I'd expect the outlook to be a hell of a lot brighter.

The problem in our re-build is we didn't put ourselves in the best position to win.

Just look at the Sixers that did a remarkable job with tanking. They have possibly at least 2 franchise cornerstones in Embiid and Simmons.

And I believe prior to last year, our total W-L record the past three years were not that far off.

There's a number of things that's been wrong with the rebuild - player development, inability to find dleague / second round talent, poor coaching (to name a few) - but the Sixers picked Embiid one pick from Orlando and managed to win the lottery last year.

Imagine if 2013 had been a better draft or if the Magic had been able to draft Porzingis in 2014 (remember he was roundly booed by the same Knicks fans who now worship the ground he walks on so his star potential certainly was no given at the time he was drafted). Luck does come into it as I'm sure other teams were saying when our 1 in 66 chance came in back in 1993.

One pick away is still a big difference.

Imagine Wiggins, Parker and Embiid then the next talent suddenly drops to AG.

Again, we didnt put ourselves in the best position to win the lottery. Thats the problem.

lol Green isn't exactly the right person to be lecturing another teammate on passing.
That being said, Ibaka did look like a player who only cared about offense for many of the earlier games. He seems to be giving more effort now, but I bet his play earlier frustrated many teammates since he wasn't doing the one thing he was brought in to do. I just wish he would stop going into the post when he only has one move and can't dribble... we can't have half the team trying to develop parts of their offense with half their possessions. He'd better serve himself and his teammates if he looked for more threes (he's at 44% 3pt% on 2.6 3pta now - remember he shot 45% on 3.8 3pta in the post season last year).

The guys did not look happy winning the game. I was there I attended. Expecially AG he looked pissed as he walked off. There was little comraderie, or high fivining. There are some serious chemistry problems that go beyond having new teamates.

This thread is depressing to read, you would think we were blown out the way people are talking about blowing it up.
This team is getting better on defense every game, the offense will come as the season goes, the key right now is to win games so that we wont be in a big hole once we figured things out and were kind of doing it.

People want to downplay a win againt a struggling depleted Mavs team but werent able to win these type of games consistently in the past few years so thats already an improvement, there are things to like about this team and Vogel clearly have yet to figure out how to maximize the talent on this team, as long as were still in the playoffs picture Im willing to stay patient and watch this team get it together.

I don't mind them being mad. I still have a lot of hope in AG and he's still the player I'm least worried about besides Biyombo because he knows his role.

Jeff green needs to shut his mouth and work on trying not to be such a meteokre basketball player. The last person on this team that needs to be demanding the ball is Jeff freaking green. Good for Biyombo though, he's been the pulse of this team so far this season && it's good to hear him taking on a leadership role.

Egos on this team are not going to work though. For this team to succeed they are going to need to play near perfect team oriented basketball. There can't be guys demanding the ball or trying to take on star roles because there are no stars on this team nor any guys that can handle big scoring loads. We are going to have to be very selfless if we're going to even think about the playoffs. The ball movement is going to have to get better and they're going to have to come together as a team.

I don't mind having guys get on each other, but at the end of the day, they can't actually dislike each other as teammates or this is going to get ugly. Even more than it's already been.

Wait, didnt we pay him 17 million per year to also be a gm? Cause that would have been a massive overpay if he isnt.
