Why are the ff. play a lot of minutes alongside a C?
- Anthony Davis (team plays best defense when offcourt; 57%@C)
- Porzingis (team plays 2nd best defense when off court)
- DMC
- KAT (team plays best defense when offcourt)

Is it because they can't anchor their team's D?

This season they now let Jokic (AKA analytics GOAT) play alongside Nurkic.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Every time I look at the box score for the Pistons I see Stanley Johnson only plays 5 minutes or so. What's his deal? Is he good and stuck behind good players or just not progressing well?

Same goes for Hezonja. I see a lot of DNPs for him when I check the boscore. If they are going to have him waste away on the bench why not trade him to us?

Supposedly Stanley Johnson is having issues with backseat role, has always been the guy.

Wiggins already coming down to earth, 5-18 FGM, 0-5 3PM against the Celtics. But more importantly, once again Towns, Wiggins and LaVine played nearly 40 minutes. He did the same thing against us in a freaking blowout game, Thibodeau is going to destroy those fresh legs.

Stanley's defense has been instantly great, but his shot just isn't translating. SVG has an arsenal of Fs that can sling it in Tobias Harris, Anthony Tolliver and Marcus Morris. He wants to surround Drummond with guys that can hit threes consistently so Stanley is finding it tough to get playing time.

In terms of trading for him, his best position is probably small ball 4, which makes him a bad fit with us.

I'm on record being on-board with trading for Hezonja. Big wings with shooting stroke are worth developing. At the very worst (not developing on D), he'd be a nice, line-up compatible bench player like Stauskas has become.

I imagine Hezonja is high on BC's wishlist. Besides D, his skillset is ideal and he would be a relatively cheap get. Worth a gamble imo.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Read it on twitter, Stan Van Gundy said it, I'm sure the quotes around. It's the adjustment to playing within a lesser role for the time being which is what he's struggling with and may consequently be why he's playing less. It's more correlative than the cause itself and he mentioned about how most players in the NBA were the guys for their teams for so long (in reference to question about SJ), it's sometimes difficult to make transition.

Remember when the Pistons (fans) thought Stanley Johnson was their lite version of LeBron James after Summer League? Stan van Gundy reportedly even considered Stanley Johnson at the PG since their starting PG was injured .

Yearly reminder to myself: evaluating prospects based on Summer League performances is useless.

Yeah. There were some Pistons fans saying the only guy they would trade Stanley Johnson for was KAT. They were saying he was the second best player in the draft. There's still time. He may blossom and eventually become the second best player. I doubt it but things change.

Jamal Murray has been balling out. Started the season 0-16, but is now at .54 TS%, .42 3P%, and 55/93 in RPM among SG's.

Wanted us to draft Murray #3 if we ended up with that pick (back when I was envisioning a Baldwin/Murray/Covington/Simmons/Embiid lineup). Huge lol to the Pelicans for taking Hield over Murray. If you're going to take a one way player, take the young, high upside crusher over the guy that broke out at an older age with a physical and mental advantage. Hield can't even stay in the rotation of a bottom 8 team despite the expectations that he was one of the most NBA ready players in the draft - and he needs to be given his age. Really bad sign when an almost 23 year old rookie is struggling.
jonjames is a signature bet welcher.

I think that Stanley Johnson, Jaylen Brown, and Justice Winslow are all very similar players, and all good players, but they aren't the types of players that you tank for. They are just good young NBA rotation players.

Like I said all last college season, Murray is going to be a great scorer in this league. The only thing holding him back from being an elite player is defense. Otherwise, he's the best scorer at U.K. during the Calipari Era.

Agree with drafting Murray over Dunn with the 3rd pick if the Sixers had had it.

It was easy to see Hield was a bust in waiting.

Read on Twitter

Having a guy that logs 31 minutes and managed to have 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 blocks, 1 steal, 2 turnovers and shooting 10.5% on 19(!) shots in is certainly not helping.

Jahlil Okafor would be proud.

After watching Wiggins play in KAnsas I wasn't a big fan and I really wanted Embiid (thank you BBall Gods) but, Wiggins can't be the only reason they are 4-11? I really thought, before the season the Wolves would make a push for the 6th spot in the West.

They have no bench and their vets kinda suck. It's basically the opposite of the Lakers, who are winning on the backs of Nick Young and Lou Williams. Even the Sixers are getting big contributions from Rodriguez, Ersan, and Henderson. I actually think what the Wolves are doing is sneakily brilliant. Let the young players figure out how to win on their own, and tank for another top 5 pick. Imagine Lonzo Ball or Josh Jackson on that team. At some point they're going to win just based on how much talent they've acquired. :nonono:
