Pretty funny that someone would compare derozan to prime Jordan.

That guy is pretty funny

For some reason Rudy Gay seems to turn into Kawhi Leonard against him.

He struggles against size & length. Expect more teams to expose him.

You don't know how to read. He's averaging 33ppg on absurd efficiency, that's absolutely Jordan like. But, I never expected him to keep it up, and I never compared him directly to Jordan, only that he has been playing at a Jordan like level.

Well...he struggles against the Kings.

Luckily for him he doesn't have to face them anymore this year.

He's sub 50% now and under 31ppg...my guess is he'll end at 27-28ppg and 46-47%.

Those averages would be pretty incredible and well above his career averages. I highly doubt he gets there because he still takes some very stupid shot and his mid-range shooting is unsustainable. I'm guessing he ends up in 23ppg range shooting in the low 40s.

Yeah, he's really not taking the best shots ATM, and that's kind of expected given the increase in volume. Of the 5.4 more FGA DeMar is taking, 4.7 of them occur between 10' and the 3 point line. He's getting to the rim with similar frequency - 0.44 less FGA within 3 feet, but 1.2 more FTA (which is around 0.53 FGA via the 0.44 TS% conversion).

If his field goal + free throw distribution was identical to 2016-17, but his percentages all reverted to 2015-16, his points would drop from 30.9 to 28.6, and his TS% would drop from 56.5 to 52.3 :o
I use a lot of parentheses when I post (it's a bad habit)

You'd need a guy who had averaged 31 through the first 14 games to average maybe 20-21 for the remaining 68. That's a bit much.

If he ends up with those averages that would be great and would definitely work for me

It's pretty crazy that 45 guys are going to average better numbers than that. :o

No doubt, but a week ago when I mentioned he'd be under 30 and sub-50 I was getting corrected for it...now it's (rightfully) something fans will be happy if he ends at it.

Honestly, it's better for the Raptors if DD averages closer to 26-28ppg. Toronto team is going nowhere if all teams have to do is shut down one/two players again in the playoffs.

They would be a really good team if the scoring was able to be spread out amongst Valanciunas, Ross, Caroll, maybe Powell taking larger roles.

DD would need to look to get others involved more, and Lowry can still take over late in games.

Offensively, at least, that would be the best version of this Toronto team imo.

Thread hasn't been bumped in a while. How's Demar been doing these past couple of weeks?

Well his season TS% keeps dropping to about the level of last year. Only difference between last year and this year is he takes 3.5 more shots a game.

Increasing volume and maintaining efficiency is still progress. If he hangs onto around 55% TS and puts up a 25/5/4 statline at the end of the year that would be an excellent season for him.

His scoring has taken a dip, but now he is invovling everyone and his assists are going way up and the Raptors are winning and we still can't beat the cavs lol. Can't complain.

I've never had a love affair with DD but this isn't completely true. I might even argue that since that open 12 game scoring streak that DD has actually been playing better. We always new his TS% would slip a bit because he doesn't shoot 3's but his passing and overall decision making have never been better and he still seems to be getting higher quality looks than previous years.

Incredibly enough, Lowry might also be playing the best ball of his career. It's like those 2 refuse to peak.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.
