My hope is they can pick up a solid starting big in that range, although I'm not familiar enough with the prospects to know if that's realistic.

That's not what happened last year.

This draft looks to be 9-10 deeper with top notch talent...that said I think the Nets will finish somewhere within the bottom 4 and will finish with a top 6 pick.

I have a clear top 5 as of now in

Giles
Fultz
Jackson
Smith Jr
Ball

In that order. After that there is still a slew of really talented guys in Tatum, Issac, Ntilikina, Rabb, Markkanen, Fox, Bridges and more. Pretty much everyone in the lottery has a crack at a pretty decent prospect.

Good lord Lonzo Ball's **** form is broken or unorthodox or both. Also he is exceedingly terrible at getting through screens.

Edit: Shot form. Typo is obvious.

He semi flings the ball. Doesn't seem to be affecting Jim today though. Looks like an elite decision maker with his speed.

True. By a single lotto ball if reports are to be believed. As is always discussed, the odds are the pick drops a spot, so it's always made sense to me to anticipate a spot or two below where the records puts the pick.

it's different to put it mildly. But he''s shooting lights out so not a concern at all. He's the complete package. I wouldn't be surprise if he's #1 or #10 because there are basketball people who may be scared of his form and others married to the false narrative that he's not a good athlete. I love so many of these prospects but he might be the most fun to watch and I'd love for us to land him.

So this nice Nets losing streak hopefully will be the norm and wind us up in at least the Top 3 picks and hopefully all the way to the top. And certainly, should the Celtics look to make a blockbuster trade, these two Brooklyn picks are trending upward after a "scary" 4-6 Brooklyn start.

This draft is atypically talented. I have Fultz as a clear #1, but Tatum, Giles, Jackson and DSJ are all supremely talented and on the same level (and potentially above) as Simmons and Ingram. Obviously you want #1 and being higher is better, but top five is where you want to be.

Because of the exceptional talent up top, I think you guys are vastly underestimating the tanking maneuvers in the 2nd half of the season by teams out of the playoff race. As bad as the talent is on the Nets, they are well coached and are going to play hard till the end. I think those hoping for bottom three finish will be disappointed...I'm thinking unfortunately Nets will end up in the 6-9 range (even if Lopez gets moved).

This was said last year, too. Coaches and players don't tank, GMs do. Too many GMs are on the hot seat to take their teams talent level to that of the Nets, especially once they deal Lopez. A Lin-Bogdanovic-RHJ-Booker-Hamilton lineup is terrible, perhaps the worst in the NBA.

I will wait on how hard they play in jan and feb. and they are still in the bottom of the standings. You can out hustle and surprise people the first month of the season, but after that the "drag" comes. Players begin to tire more, talent is always there effort and hustle have to be generated every day, 20 games from now when they are 10 and 25, I don't think that effort will be there- then you throw in the expected Lopez trade and the players realize the management is not about winning this year the players efforts will follow. I don't see how the Suns, Miami and Dallas do not win close to 30 games. Dallas needs to get the players back, The suns just have some talented pieces that need to come together some. Miami has Dragic (impossible to trade IMO) Whiteside and Winslow

lol watching all the drama centered around the BK17 pick is almost as much fun as watching us. This Net team is not like last year's at all. There won't be a 2nd half slump because of effort. This team is full of mostly guys playing for their next team or trying to fight for their fist taste of real minutes. While they could tank and trade away assets, they could also stay the course and improve as all these new pieces continue to gel. Caris Levert practiced in full a few days ago. He's their most naturally talented player. It might take a couple of months but once he is getting 20+ minutes a game he is going to make them a better team. Chris McCullough is being treated with kid gloves as he develops and is also very talented. So even if the Nets trade some peripheral players like Booker or Bogdonovich they have some kids watiting in the wings. So they can recoup some picks by moving guys and possibly end up with more talent playing. My money is on a mini fire sale and rest assured that we'll be picking in the top 5.

No RHJ for Brooklyn and no Lin. I reckon Indy at home will take this.

Nets are being pounded by 15 at the half against the Paul George less pacers. They. Suck.

Ok 4-11

Is this the time in the season where the nets give up?

Wizards win, heat up a dozen over Memphis and the nets getting blown out by 30. Wolves and Suns tied in the first quarter, another good night for the tank
