You're not a contributing member of the board and you're using the board solely as a way to promote your music. Piss off.
Ror,
Halfhavoc has been a Nets fan (and has posted his music) on this board for many years. While it is not directly Nets related, it is something that has become a tradition.
If you want to discuss whether members should be allowed to post their own material here, we can have that talk. But telling another Nets fan (who has been around for a very long time) to "piss off" because you do not like/are unfamiliar with the tradition is not right.
There are much better ways to go about addressing this.
So were going to just ignore the fact that his posts break the rules and that he's just using the board for his personal gain? There's a random topic thread is there not? If he wanted to share his music he could post it there. But when he makes his own thread, and doesn't bother to comment on any net news so its clear what his intentions are. I'm not going to apologize for telling him to piss off either. You guys allow and defend this BS but god forbid somebody makes a thread to follow the Celtics pick? How does that make sense?

No one is ignoring this. As I said, we can have a (civil) discussion about this.
But you also need to understand that for something that has been a tradition for more than a decade and no one else having a problem with it, things are not going to change at a moment's notice.
With that said, just because something a tradition doesn't make it right. Your point of critique is being taken into consideration by the mods and we will be discussing whether things of this nature should be relegated to the Random Thoughts thread.
However, what is currently undermining the innocence of your claim is 1) your aggressive/smuggish approach to this issue, 2) unwillingness to even hear the other side.
This a Nets fans forum. We spend most of our time commiserating and supporting each other on topics both Nets-related and non Nets-related. Repeatedly telling a fellow Nets fan to piss off isn't conducive to community formation nor does it shed a positive light on your willingness to engage other posters with differing view points.
If you "don't care" and still want others to "piss off", how is that helping anyone?
And now we're tying this issue to the Celtics pick thread because you don't want to talk about it in the avenues/threads that have already been suggested? It's one thing to have a civil discussion; it's another thing to backseat moderate and be condescending especially towards other Nets fans.
