Reading the coach speak it translates into "When he's ready, he's in."

My guess is after the Cardinals game since that's on a Thurs. So it's a mini bye for him to have a couple of extra days to get ready.

This morning on his KNBR show, Kelly was asked about Gabbert's struggles and Kap possibly playing. Kelly's response was not only was Kap still recovering from his surgeries, but also that there is still a QB competition going on. Kelly could have said Gabbert is the starter and still has faith in him. But he said nothing like that. I think next week is a pivotable game. Struggling in Seattle isn't unexpected, but if the offense really struggles at home against Dallas, I think Kelly is going to strongly consider making a change.

I don't think we should have high expectations.

Running game isn't the threat it used to be the first time he started and of course WRs are still a problem.

Kaep used to lock into too much and Gabbert looked for Kerley too much as well. Need to use the TEs more and maybe the RBs. 49ers haven't had an effective screen pass game in like forever.

Deal signed. Remainder of contract wiped out. Player option for 2017.

Now that I think about it with the restructure I don't see any reason to really play Kap now except from the coaching standpoint of trying to win games.

For the sake of argument if he plays really well you don't have him locked up with a contract nor do you have any trade value from it. So you could win a few more games to knock yourself out of prime draft position and be left without anything to show for it.

I think the partnership between Kap n SF is all but done no matter what the results are. I feel he will opt out and SF will not pursue.

That's my 10/13/16 feeling about this situation lol

If Chip fixes Kap like Harbaugh "fixed" Alex Smith then all bets are off. If he suddenly plays better in this system it could be a difficult choice. Even though he's not a perfect fit for this system, it's the system that he fits best.

Kap wants to be gone. He should be gone. He needs to be gone. But there's still a chance he might not be gone even with this contract. Because there was no way Alex Smith was ever coming back, but he did.

Denver's on a 2-game losing streak, and Trevor Siemen does not look good.

Any chance they cave & trade for Kaepernick in order to make a postseason run? I'm sure it wouldn't take too long to make a colouring-book version of the playbook for him.

piggy backing on Bingo, I thought this was going happened after the deal change. I do not expect him back in SF.... I don't see the FO wanting him(Baalke or Baalke) and i don't see Kap playing here anymore. He can go to Cuba for all i care.

I hope we land the #1....

Get rid of Baalke. I'd rather a new GM and whoever is the HC decide whom to run out there as QB.

As for CK, his political stance probably has ruled them out of many NFL teams, because most owners are pretty conservative.

They also don't give a crap about their players' politics; they want to win and make money.

Kaepernick is not attractive to other teams because he sucks at football and NFL fans get turned off from football by him because he annoyingly brought politics into what was supposed to be relaxing amusement.

Now we have to watch this gonzo-looin' d-bag wear a crooked hat and headphones that aren't even plugged in.

Yall made fun off me for calling him trash when he "took us" to the Superbowl... where are all the fan boys now?

Boom. Can't wait to see this ass-clown get cut.

Colin Kaepernick - QB - 49ers

NJ Advance Media's Darryl Slater believes the Jets could show interest in Colin Kaepernick if he's released by the 49ers.

This comes on the heels of the Jets finally landing an offensive coordinator in former Saints WRs coach John Morton. Before landing in New Orleans, Morton was the 49ers' WRs coach from 2011-14, spending four years in San Francisco with Kaepernick. That connection could lead to interest from the Jets.

lol. Deadpool. Spidey. Dirty Dancing. Never would have thought that montage would have existed, nor that it would be applied to Kaepernick's career coming to a close. I like it.
