None of these guys are on Simmons' level as a prospect IMO. There's 5-6 that would be ranked right with or above Ingram though. And you can make the argument that Brown Dunn ect wouldn't have been top 10 picks this year.

Seems like the patience in not dangling that Lakers pick for something at the last draft is going to pay off. It'd be nice if that dropped a few more spots though.

Where would you rank a freshman Simmons from this point of last year with this draft class, roughly?

Definitely the clear cut #1. The only one who comes close to matching his two-way dominance has been Josh Jackson.

It's truly amazing how special a prospect Ben Simmons was. Not only was this dude a dominant 2-way player, but he was rebounding at an elite level and distributing at an elite level. Just an incredibly unique talent.

Still think that Brandon Ingram is a mediocre talent that doesn't even project as a starter.

He's very young. It took him a while to adjust to college ball. He'll be fine.

Ball just hit a three from NBA range. Forget the form, that J is legit.

Ball is insane. Dropping bombs from distance. Getting on-ball steals at halfcourt.

I think maybe Simmons got such high praise early on he actually ended up being underrated somehow. At least in the eyes of major media.

Just came here to post the same thing.

Plus he is playing off the ball too.

He's a beast.

This Leaf guy is intriguing. He has some post moves, he's a great finisher, he has a jumper, he's a decent rebounder. Another diaper dandy, too.

He got negative rub for being on an irrelevant LSU squad.

In the media's eyes, phenoms are supposed to carry trash teams to the tourney. Ben didn't deliver on that concept.

The same will happen to Markelle Fultz over the Winter and Spring.

Lonzo Ball looks like Comeback Season era Drake.

Ball might just be the perfect pick for us. He can probably defend the 1-3, but can play off the ball on offense, and he simply can't be left open.

Yea, of course only us nerds are more heavily concerned with who will be a better NBA player, rather then who is helping this college team win right now. It's frustrating but understandable.

I like that Ball's coach trusts him enough defensively to put him on hot players, but I'm not quite convinced on his defense. I get the early impression that he's more of a Klay Thompson-esche defender. In that he'll work really hard to get positioning and just get beat but people will still think he's a good defender.

Ball could legit compete in every all-star event. Three point contest, obstacle course where you gotta perform all those passes, and the dunk contest. He's a pretty impressive specimen.

WOW, what a show from Ball in that first half. Absolutely insane talent. Dude is pulling up from 30 in this game.

14 points, 4 threes, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals

That was impressive. And the refs robbed him of an And-1. He can't seem to hit his FT's though.

Ball's shooting form is different than any I have ever seen, but he is deadly from deep.

No coach would teach it that way, but no coach should try to get him to change it either.

Lonzo Ball is so good it's ridiculous.
