I've been saying this for a while.. he's a tall Lowry. Same bulldog mentality offensively and defensively. Lowry couldn't shoot and had ups back in the day at Nova. A talker Lowry is like top 10 player in the league. Love the fact that he's from Fayetteville too. #Dreamville Stand Up

It's not as big of a deal nowadays, but a heads up on Dennis Smith Jr., he did tear his ACL a few years ago (actually happened right in front of me at an event here in L.A).
But, yes, the kid is an incredible athlete. I could only dream of getting him.

TJ Leaf who seems like a somewhat reachable goal for our draft just went for 25/10/9 tonight. It was against UC Santa Barbara though...

He'd be a good fit with Jonas but I see him in the teens come draft. Might even go really high due to not many bigs in this draft.

There's no pick more perfect for us than OG. I really hope Masai is all in on this kid. I really wished he declared last year. All of those people in these draft threads last year who couldn't see his appeal have disappeared all of a sudden.

I hope masai trades valancuinas to a team desperate to maks rhe playoffs (washington, portland) for a top 10 protected lotto pick. Theres insane talent in this draft and a rookie from this draft could immediately produce as much as current valanacuinas.

I would guess a team in the mix for the #1 seed in their conference trading their leading rebounder and 3rd leading scorer for a draft pick mid-season would be unprecedented in the history of the NBA.

5 rookies in history have matched Valanciunas' production in terms of PPG/RBG/TS% -- 3 were 1st pick overall, 1 2nd pick overall, 1 3rd pick overall. The likelihood of a mid-round 1st pick immediately producing at JV's level is virtually nil.

YOu cherry picked data. AFTER 2 seasona rudy gobert and clint capella were better centwrs than valancuinas. Val is overrated and his numbers are fools gold, he could have 20/12 and our team will still lose to the cavs and he sucks on defence. No more waiting of val, its been 5 yrs. Centers who play defence on a team with lowry wouls avwrage 10/10 on the minutes as val and affect the gsme wthout the ball. This love for valancuinas is getting out of hand.

I did cherry pick data - absolutely. Your post stated a rookie from this draft could immediately produce as much as current Valanciunas - so I set the filter at the production level of current Valanciunas. The results are the results.
We're going to lose Cleveland because they have one of the top 2 players in the history of basketball and who we have at Centre won't be changing that outcome one iota. I responded because you are posting highly unrealistic trade scenarios involving JV in every thread on the board. Everyone else is just letting it go - and I'm going to back to letting it go as well - but I assure you - your opinion is noted.

Sacramento, Washington and Orlando are picking 10-12 right now, and they all have GMs desperate to save their jobs. All need shooting. How about, this summer, Ross, and our 1st rounder we will have for one of those, and then we package that with Poeltl to a team like the Pels who need value and then we are in the 5-6 range and can take a shot at whoever Ujiri likes that has a ton of upside. Giles, Jackson, Tatum and Isaac all look promising.

Might be a way to find a future star without giving up core pieces. Powell steps in for Ross, maybe Wright becomes a solid bench player or even Van Vleet. Or whoever we dradt with the Clippers pick.

I think I may have found our guy if we can't get OG (who's beyond perfect for us). Danjel Purifoy. His name looks like it's misspelled, but it's not lol. His red flag is that he's a 21 year old freshman at Auburn, but he looks like he can really play.

A 6'7" 230lbs athletic small forward. He's averaging 16/5/3 on 45% from the field and 41% from 3.

ORTG 121.2 - DRTG 97.6 :o

Steal dunk in transition
putback dunk
3 pointers galore
using a pick to dribble and make a guy fall over
free throws to go up 1 with 1.5 seconds left and win the game?

yeah, this guy sucks... :D

Well his conference is strong and his defense seems good. Also 21 year old rookie is tough even though last year was a red shirt. His ORTG is 127 and his DRTG is 95.2 which is satisfactory. Lets see how he does when he plays Kentucky, if he shines he will be on everyone's radar.

that's not even Doncic in the picture, that's Jonas Maciulis.

also Doncic is gonna take over the White LeBron moniker from Gordon Hayward. He's not as good a leaper or scorer (still the age of a HS junior though) but has the all-world vision that few have. To be a key piece of an ACB team like Real Madrid at 17, coupled with the type of production he's had, that's unprecedented.

this guy uploads game footage from most of Doncic's games so take a look when you have the time

Looked at some of his uploaded games and Doncic is really good for a 17 year old. He played against OKC and did really well. He's a 6'8" shooting guard. 1 inch shorter than Bruno. Same height as Lebron. Which means he might get even taller. And he's very efficient - very efficient. Still he's another year away so it doesn't matter that much right now.

Doncic is crazy good for a 17 year old. One of the best 17 year old players I have ever seen. I really dont know what his ceiling is tho, he definitely has some glaring deficiencies, average wingspan, not that athletic, handle needs polishing. At the end of the day, he is 6'7 - 6'8 point guard who is a key player on a top Euroleague team.

His Euroleague stats so far :

7 ppg. 3.4 rpg. 2.8 asi. 0.8 stl. in 17.3 mpg.

42,6 FG% : 62.5 TS% : 1.6 PPS : 17 PER
