Hypothetically that is, I'm not even speaking about his opinion on the matter, obviously you don't do it if he's that opposed to it.

Playing on the lock block and then the occasional midrange and 3 point shots is versatile enough for him... Making him a stretch four is something you might try after 5 years... Once he's an established superstar who knows who he is... He is so raw in the block, he needs as much time as possible there to develop... Doing this is going to start to create bad habits for him... These are the types of things that cause players to be frustrated and create disharmony in the team... As a teacher, I know you get the best of your students by making them comfortable... You don't give them myriad things to learn all at the same time. You have them master one skill, then move on to the next. Why are they having him flip flop so much? He's had less than 20 games in the league, and now they want him to play the 4 on offense?

Benefitting the team is something you think about when you're a playoff/title contender... We're not going anywhere this year... Part of the beauty of tanking is that you get to let your young players get as much exposure as they can so they develop... You don't do this unless there are all star veterans who need to be accommodated...

Haha yeah man... It's part of the reason why I'm frustrated with this whole situation.... We've all been through so much as a franchise. Now that we have the player that can take us to the promised land I want him to be developed properly...

Well that's what he became the last game... The past 10 or so games he's been drifting more and more to the perimeter. I hate that they ask him to stay there, and then rotate to the block... Our player movement is atrocious. He ends up getting the ball late in the shot clock, or not at all because of our crappy guards...

my thing is that Ersan and Embiid was working quite well...leading to wins (well kinda). So to go away from something that worked seems weird.

This plus the reports that Noel has been a dope behind the scenes makes it feel like we may be showcasing Jah for a trade...otherwise wtf are you doing, right?

i know you guys keep advocating that the low post game is becoming obsolete in todays game but Embiid needs to work on that. That's his one area of weakness. Not saying that should become his staple but it should be another added dimension to his overall game. i know he is comfortable with the face up, but he could be Shaq like dominant with his back to the basket. He needs to learn how to gain position deep in the low post, take one or two dribbled and either kick out or shoot over inferior talent with a baby hook or misdirection moves.

What this team does with Okafor and Noel means next to nothing in comparison. Embiid has already missed 2 years of development time, now we're wasting more time, playing him out of position to showcase players with very little value. Embiid's reps at Center, are 100x the most important thing happening on the court this season and nothing should interfere with that.

agreed, develop embiid while he is still moldable. i don't want him to fall in love with that 10-15 foot jumper. he's gonna be an elite shooter, thanks to his great work ethic, but i think embiid should be working from inside out. not outside in. i don't even care if he dunks the ball. just learn how to back down other centers in the league with your fat butt, and gain position as close to the basket as possible. i've maybe seen him do this 3 or 4 times this season, which doesn't make sense to me.

BC better hurry up and clean up Hinkie's mess.

And I hope people are smart enough to not complain about the inevitable poor return we get for Okafor/Noel. Neither has any trade value, given the circumstances.

I have been on the Noel over Okafor side openly on here and would love if Noel could get behind backing Embiid up and playing some minutes next to him. What I cannot get behind in any way is either one of them being in the way of Embiids development. I also don't agree with the idea of Simmons being a true pg. He can bring the ball up all he wants and initiate all day but the dude needs to play defense at the pf position and occasionally sf. On that note I would be fine with trading them both away at this point for players who fit best with an Embiid/Simmons front court even if we slightly lose out on the trades. The only thing that really matters is Embiid/simmons developing and our upcoming pick/picks.

After those reports came out, a week later a couple insiders said Hinkie wanted to do it, but JC said no, enough dealing for future assets, can't keep giving away known assets for future assets and kick the can down the road every year.

I think you have Dunn confused with Brandon Ingram. Ingram has looked awful and Dunn is already a great defender in year 1.

Yeah. Just take the best deal and move on. We need to clear big man minutes for Embiid, Simmons, and Saric. Hinkie knew you could miss on a few picks, so he wanted a lot of shots. We have Embiid, Simmons, and some promising picks to round out the backcourt.

I don't expect either Okafor or Noel to bring back much. But hopefully a pick or young player to gamble on.
