Charlotte gets: Andrew Bogut + Deron Williams
Dallas gets: Ramon Sessions + Roy Hibbert + Spencer Hawes + one or two future 2nds
Kemba/Deron/Roberts
Batum/Marco
MKG/Lamb/Graham
Marv/Frank/Wood
Cody/Bogut/veteran minimum
I'm not crazy about this trade, but there aren't a lot of better options and this kills two birds with one stone, assuming Bogut and Deron can stay healthy.

I like it but can't see why Dallas do it, they would probably need more incentive than just a 2nd or two

Both those guys are expiring and probably not resigning. I don't seem them getting a 1st for either, so maybe a couple 2nds would be worth it. Probably not, but who knows.

Bogut comes to mind. As do PJ Tucker, Withey, and Thabo.

Would you be interested in this? If so, what picks would you add to get it done? I know you love Marco, would you rather move Lamb in this trade (I wouldnt, maybe if we were getting a pick back)?
I think I would definitely do it if it only took two 2nd rounders. Losing Marco and another 1st would kind of suck, but I still might do it if we got desperate enough (maybe make it a 2018 or 2019 1st?).
Kemba/Knight/Roberts
Batum/Lamb/Graham
MKG/Tucker
Marv/Frank/Wood
Cody/Roy/vetmin
To make up for the loss of Marco's shooting/playmaking, we could maybe stagger Batums minutes to play him with the second unit in a small ball lineup of Knight/Lamb/Tucker/Batum/Frank.

I can't see it for Phoenix. They'd want a pick or a young player and Marco should go to a PO team. Knight's a good addition but I'm skeptical here too ---- CHA adding long-term salary prior to FA seems implausible unless it's an obvious home run pushing them to EC Finals territory.
The determining factor in moving Lamb v Marco v Hawes (or a combo) boils down to trade partners. For example, Lamb doesn't work for PHX or MIL but Dallas and ATL may prefer Lamb. But assuming CHA moves Marco instead of Lamb (which I doubt) here's a reasonable 3-team deal landing PJ Tucker without adding picks...CHA gets their rugged wing, PHX gets a C, and MIL gets a shooter and clears cap space.
BTW I wouldn't do this ---- I'd rather move Hawes to MIL even if it required (2) 2nd's.

Im fine with going for a simple trade for just Tucker, but only if we are either going to commit to going small and/or not playing a traditional PG with the second unit. I would love to have Tucker for Hawes and a 2nd or two, but I'd still want us to play all three of our backup wings (Marco/Lamb/Tucker) at least 10-15 minutes most games. I really don't see any point in giving assets up for Tucker if it just means he replaces all Lamb's minutes on the second unit and we are still rolling out Sessions/Roy 15+ minutes every game, but I assume that is exactly what Clifford would do. I dont see that moving the needle at all and it might make us worse.

Yeah it's really about envisioning the next 2-3 seasons and how/when the FO finalizes their plan. A rental defensive C will always be needed but big picture it's about MKG and always has been, IMO.
I think that's partly why Nic and Lamb were acquired, Frank was drafted, Lin-Al-Courtney received their multi-year contracts elsewhere, and why Ramon-Roy-Marco were acquired on cheap/short deals instead of expensively dipping into FA.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
Charlotte crashes Denver getting Millsap from the Hawks
Cha Out: Lamb & 2x 2nd round picks
Cha In: Tim Hardaway Jr, & Jusuf Nurkic
This is a move to solidify the bench.
Den Out: Faried, Beasley, & Nurkic
Den In: Paul Millsap, Jeremy Lamb, & Kris Humphries
Getting Millsap for Faried is about spacing. Lamb will give them depth and size to contrast with Gary Harris. The subtraction of Nurkic gives more minutes to Millsap & Jokic while Hump is able come off the bench.
Atl Out: Milsap, Humphries, & Hardaway Jr.
Atl In: Kenneth Faried, Malik Beasley, & Charlottes 2 second round picks
Atlanta is trying to rebuild on the fly. Faried is younger than Millsap and signed long enough for them to try to get some pieces around a younger core. Beasley is another young guy for them to try out.
And it amuses me that the trade checker swears that all 3 teams get worse with this.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
many suggestions for trades for either Brandon Knight or PJ Tucker.
The two guys on PHX I would rather trade for are Jared Dudley or Alex Len.
Jeremy Lamb for Alex Len. Sorry Lamb fans, SG more fungible position than C. Gets us a decent young backup C.
Jeremy Lamb + Christian Wood for Jared Dudley. Win now trade. 3 pt shooting fit and intangibles tip the scale for me. Think Dudley's 40% 3 pt shooting more valuable to us now than Lamb's 24% 3pt percentage. Wood's got enticing skillset but think he's too skinny to play in the league for awhile.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
Nurkic will make someone happy but he's cost prohibitive for most teams with a starting C. It's really difficult to justify burning considerable assets on 2 centers who probably shouldn't play together. Better off going with the starting C + skilled 4/5 + cheap 5 D specialist model.
And I'd guess Denver wants to package Nurk with a 1st and a vet for an upgrade @ 4.....as in Millsap.
