"Everyone" aka 1 person, bet I could go over to your board and find multiple that say Noel's off the table unless the BRK17 is coming back

Why does everyone in Philly think the Sixers will match a big offer sheet for their 5th best big man prospect?

It might not happen because there isn't an offer out there good enough from a team he is willing to go to. But I almost guarantee that meeting was about and went exactly the opposite as it was reported.
I think that's right. Either waive the no trade or you are benched indefinitely. When you get tired of not playing we can discuss a buyout.
Signing Melo to that huge contract was Phil's fault. Now he's trying to rectify the mistake.
Melo is still his best player. Everyone is acting its his game that is all of a sudden the problem. The problem is the rest of the roster that Phil has put around him sucks.
0-10 the past two season without Anthony in the line up. 7-35 the year before.
Phil Jackson and his 4 coaches in two and half seasons does not know what he is doing.

Man I just woke up, I can't write out all my thoughts on the problems with the Knicks.. You may be right about Phil/Melo, but that wasn't my first reaction.

The Celtics, Ainge and Stevens have designs on Gordon Hayward next year. In order to get him the Celtics can't take on any salary for next year or additional cap holds. Celtics simply won't trade for Noel because of this reason no matter how much people talk about it.
If Hayward falls through and the Celtics love Noel then they will just offer him a max deal in July.
Sixers will match any deal for Noel. Dallas board is discussing a max for Noel as well.
You cant offer a max to noel. Jesus. If that is what it takes to get him, let him go. Why would the 76ers match thus guy? Dumbest franchise in NBA. Trade him and turn the asset over and invest in embiid.

A 3 year max is not going to kill the Sixers. Maybe year 3 will be slightly difficult but we have 70M in cap space and even more as the years progress. If BB wants Noel on the team and not Okafor, we match.
And the dumbest franchise in NBA almost beat you the other day without their 1st overall pick this year. We aren't dumb. Just hold on because there is not point in trading him for scraps.

Here's what I don't understand: why would you offer a max deal to a guy whom you aren't even giving consistent minutes to? I mean, Noel has been frustrated with his playing time, and that is with Simmons still out. Once Simmons returns, his playing time will drop even further.

Ainge is not trading Bradley, Smart or Crowder for Noel. That leaves Rozier and a draft pick as the most logical choice. Like I said before I don't believe Ainge is interested in Noel anyways. Why give Noel $17-20 million per year when you have Zizic coming over next year at $1.5 million?

Right now, everyone has to be a threat at the three point line in order to give IT and Bradley the space they need to operate. That's why KO, even with all his faults, is a crunch time player more than Amir. Noel could certainly develop, but he would be a long term project with no help for us this year. If you want him, commit to a new offense and try to grab him in the off season.

Noel is strictly a 5. If we extend Noel and deal Okafor this offseason, he is splitting time with Embiid. And I dont see Embiid being a 30+ minute player on Sixers with a Noel backup. Saves Embiid from the hard minutes.
Simmons would be a positive impact on Noel. A true passer and scorer to open up lanes. Hes our PG like Giannis.

Wouldn't you want Embiid getting 30+ minutes next season, though?

Honestly, No. We are not out of the woods yet with Embiid. We are building great depth to keep our guys fresh.
If Embiid can get me 25 pts per 30, I'm very happy with Noel getting 20 minutes to keep that production up. Add Simmons to the mix and I think Noel can be a 14/8 guy at 20 minutes.
