I thought it felt pretty cool back in '96 & '97

Wonder if Julius Peppers tries to come back next year either with us or another contender?

Ugh, this is so true. Had we finished the 2nd quarter with points and started out the third with points, would be a different story. Need a miracle finish on a day we can't capitalize on ANYTHING defensively

If the Packers were up 37-15 going into the 4th qtr I'd still be nervous.

I have a feeling the Falcons aren't going to choke though.

We were the better team for sure but neither of those games were anywhere close to over like this one was in the first half. Teams/fans just don't get to enjoy being this stress free in a conference title game ever.

Haha I was thinking same thing. No lead is safe with our defense. Even against the Bears.

This would have been a crazy game had the offense of the last 2 possessions showed up to the game.

I mean we're missing a minimum of 10 points that we absolutely should have. We would still be at a big disadvantage but it would be a game at least.

We'd have to run to the Quicky Mart to get'em. No reason for Atlanta to throw again, but they will.

Yup. Halftime would've been 24-10, with us getting the ball.

I think that this is precisely what the Packers needed to be able to cut ties with Dom Capers. I think the offense has been awful, but I think that an exit via embarrassing defensive play is what has been needed to get him out of there.

yeah, that's how I feel too.

Capers takes some ownership in this awful defense but you'd have to be blind to see how awful the overall "talent" is, the majority is on Teddy and unfortunately sling blade will continue to mail it in.

Yep. Doesn't matter what your roster looks like, you cannot allow that many points.

Score wise they weren't over as early as this one but I remember in '97 vs San Fran I was nervous because we were on the road, but then about midway through the 2nd qtr I was pretty comfortable the rest of the game.

And most of the 2nd half vs Carolina in '96 you could just sit back relax and watch the clock drain. The Holmgren Packers were the opposite of chokers, the McCarthy Packers could be poster boys for choking so that was a factor.Oh and our defense was a little better back then.

Oh how I remember the days when you could go into the 4th qtr with a 3 TD lead and not still be nervous lol

It's one thing to be bad, and another thing to be historically bad over and over again.

Do the Falcons take Ryan out, or do they go for 50+?
