He would be great if he gets drafted by the Mavs/Heat.

He reminds me so much of Kyle Lowry, but sounds as though Smith Jr. is more athletic. But, from watching him play, dude plays like Lowry.

He doesn't play like Russell at all. He's a freak athletically, but he plays at a wayyyyyyyy slower pace than any of the previous freak PGs who tend to go 100 mph every second
it's because of zone defense in college. At the pro level he'll have more opportunities once/if he breaks down his man, to have freakish dunks. He's going to be a better pro than college player unlike Fultz who is the opposite.

Re: Dennis Smith Jr
Could you explain? Why do you think it will be easier for Smith to get to the basket in the NBA but at the same time it will be harder for Fultz to get to the basket?

Bucks need to get him. Now that Jabari is done, we need another running mate for Giannis. The PNR with DSJ and Giannis would be so fantastic.

because he is quicker and has a better handle. I am of the belief that Fultz plays smooth because he doesn't have next level athleticism. I'll try to explain but it's hard. So I believe Fultz is an 8/10 athlete who plays at 7/10 and people call him smooth. But because he has that burst to bring him up to 8/10 it actually makes people think he's more athletic or has even more in reserves. It's intentional...his playing smooth. He can get away with it in college because his 8/10 is most guys 10/10. In the NBA his 8/10 is really 8/10. If he tries to be smooth at 7/10 he won't succeed.
Smith is a 10/10 athlete who plays at 9/10. He too has that extra bit of burst and explosion that leaves us in awe but he doesn't sit at 8/10 and try to be "smooth". In the NBA DSJ will be able to get by guys with quickness and finish because of his ups. Fultz won't. Unless it's a mismatch on a switch, unlike college, he'll need a screen or PnR to penetrate. If he does get by he won't have the same success scoring because his great college length is just average at the NBA level and he relies on length more than athleticism.
IMO Fultz, like Kennard..is an elite college player because he not only has a skill advantage but a length and athleticism advantage. Once in the NBA I'm thinking he'll still have a skill advantage but no longer a length or athletic one. What is Fultz really good at in college? Driving and finishing....plus working off screens. Him driving will be taken away from him so he'll be a jump shooter. Still damn good, just not elite or #1 worthy. Plus, I've seen nothing that suggests he can make others better around him. That matters...big time. I also don't think he's a good on ball defender or even tries very hard. I am impressed with his help D so it's not a lost cause. I have a feeling once he realizes he's not going to score in the NBA like he did in college, in a few years he might dedicate himself on the defensive end to be a more well rounded player. I think his upside is a poor man's Beal. Whereas I believe Ball could be like Kidd with a better 3 pt shot and DSJ like Westbrook. I'm actually surprised more people aren't seeing this. I chalk it up to groupthink and getting their opinions from tweets by pundits or draft sites.

Re: Dennis Smith Jr
I think DSJ is a pretty safe bet to be an all-star. He is hitting the right numbers, steals, assists, 38% 3pt, has the obvious physical tools. My model is screaming Lonzo as the best player but I am still concerned that he's the NFL QB who fills it up in a non pro system. But I'd still trust my numbers and take him I guess
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

If the projections turn out to be correct with the top 3 being Fultz, Ball, Jackson, you'd think Dennis Smith would be one of the best non-top 3 prospects ever.

Re: Dennis Smith Jr
He's my #1. Literally my only concern with him is if he can stay healthy. Defense a bit too, but I have a feeling he'll pick that up later. Outside of that, literally everything else screams star to me.

Kennard has a length and athleticism advantage in college?
Can you explain how Fultz as an average athlete produces 1.3 blocks/per game (3.3 blk) , 1.6 steals/ per game?

For me it's really simple if you buy his shot, and I do, you can't have him lower than 3rd, if you don't I get why you are lower on him, if his shot is not as good as i think, he might suck, his floor isnt as high as other guys too.

DSJ has motor issues you simply don't see with Fultz/Ball.

As a 6'6" SG...yeah Kennard has a height/length advantage? Let me guess...you disagree?
a) he's not an average athlete in college. Try actually reading my posts. b) I've clearly showed he's a very good help defender which is where he gets his blocks from. Again, read the posts.

Haha ya that one confused me. Luke never has the athletic advantage. Luke is just a highly skilled player that is extremely crafty. And to put Fultz and Luke in the same category when it comes to length and athleticism just doesnt make sense. Fultz has a 6'10 wingspan, that is going to be near the high end even in the NBA and Fultz is a far superior athlete to Luke and Fultz may not be considered an elite athlete in the NBA but his athleticism wont be an issue either.

I have seen bad body language and effort issues with DSJ and it's a huge red flag. But Fultz has maybe been even worse. I've seen him bark at teammates and loaf horribly on defense. DSJ is no worse than Fultz in this regard. What I HAVE seen from DSJ is lockdown on ball defense, something Ball has shown and Fultz has not.

Luke is 6'5 with a 6'5 wingspan, ya I dont think that is all that much of a height and length advantage. Then add in his average athleticism for a guard I dont see how Luke is an elite college player because of a length and athleticism advantage.
