What's going on with Nurkić?

I'd take him and Bogut, for a rental.

Without Trading any BRK picks.
Send out a 1st for Ibaka, A 2nd for Nurkić, and an even-trade for Bogut.
Hey. What do I know, huh?

Ibaka is an average rebounder even his shot blocking is on the decline. We need a defensive, rim protecting rebounding specialist, reasonably young. Noel fits the bill. Go get him.

We have reinforcements coming next year.
But just to shore it up for now, with 2 Expiring's and the Nurkić Kid.
And at the same time, Trade Away Amir, Zeller & Young, who are all Expiring themselves.
What's wrong with this?

Andrew Bogut has played 22 games this season.

He has a 9.48 PER.

He is going to get injured again.

He is not going to fix anything.

He is done.

Should've tried biyombo last offseason.

Crowder/Olynyk for Okafor/LA 1st would keep our max cap space and leave a Gordon Hayward sized hole on the roster, with the worst case being that we fill it with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, etc.

Still think the max cap space play is a mistake. We could add Noel, go get someone like Gallo, and still have two BKN picks.

LOL, i'd do that trade all day not sure what the asking price for Ibaka and Nurkic is though. Bogut should only cost a 2nd rounder.

Biyombo isn't worth 10 million let alone 17. Hard pass

I'm going to project that the Mavs will be buying out Bogut. I can't see any team giving up a 1st rounder due to his injury risk and final contract year status. On top of that, finding a salary match is going to be problematic.

And still he would come cheap, is expiring, has championship experience, averaging a career high Reb% (around 23% which is elite), and 2nd amongst all centers is defensive real-plus minus.

Like I've said before, if he didn't stay healthy, big deal you gave up scraps. If he does, he solves A LOT of this teams issues without any long term commitment.

I know people want big sexy names, but gotta think outside the box a bit.

I think you have to go out and get Noel or Nurkic. I've been banging this drum for weeks but it's because both are young and will come with a substantial upgrade for the 5 spot. Honestly it's our best bet to get better long term without sacrificing the short term. Really don't care that neither can shoot 3's. But I'm sure that's playing into the Celtics thinking.

He rebounds, passes, blocks shots, and we'll only pull the trigger if the cost is right. Don't necessarily need a regular season iron man here. PER is useless. He would fix almost everything as far as our issues that don't have to do with getting a top 10 player. Is he done or not? I don't know. Probably too good last season to call it already. Based on his public comments, he's playing the whole thing safe based on his team situation and upcoming FA.
