Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
I would be willing to roll the dice on a 1st for an expiring IF (1) the player we're trading for seems to be a high level talent and an obvious fit for us, (2) we get that player's bird rights, and (3) we get really strong feedback that the player will stick around.
For me, Ibaka checks the box on 1 and 2.
I do think if we want to build on what we have rather than salary dump, trading for an expiring where we get bird rights is the only way to do it. Extra credit if we trade for an expiring high level FA and also a RFA so we can sign both and just blow by the cap next season.

Don't know why Orlando trades ibaka. Especially to a division team.
I would just go small and start Marco and move mkg to pf and find center for the bench

Melo value is trash right now... not saying he is a perfect fit but him Kemba and Batum would be a good big 3.
Not sure what it would take, his value is so low we could steal him.

Because they are really struggling and he's an aging unrestricted FA that got traded there, so he never really chose to be in ORL in the first place. If he wants to win ORL is probably not the spot for him. I don't think they turn down a trade that makes sense for them from an asset value perspective just because he'd be going to a division team, divisions are pretty irrelevant at this point anyway.

What makes you think he could be a plus rebounder? He hasn't shown that yet.
If we're moving MKG, let's do it for a guy that has a consistent 3 ball and doesn't have a pretty extensive injury history, right?
Warren's rebounding is fine. He plays next to Tyson Chandler, who is vacuuming in a career high 15.4 rebounds a game on a per-36 minute adjusted basis. There's no reason Warren cant average 5 or 6 rebounds a night for Charlotte if given 36-38 minutes on the floor which is perfectly adequate for a SF. He's not yet an elite outside shooter but he is world's better than MKG will ever be. He was shooting the 3 ball at a 40% clip on 1.5 attempts last year so even though his accuracy has dipped this season, he's already demonstrated the ability to be a solid threat from outside.
Warren's had two injuries, a concussion earlier this season from getting wacked in the head and a broken foot last year that he's fully recovered from. Neither was as serious as the injuries MKG battled with his shoulder, nor have they been systemic problems.
While Warren has 25ppg potential, he is still developing as a player so trading for him would be a roll of the dice. But MKG's trade value is lower than anyone wants to admit, and short of acquiring some aging veteran, a roll of the dice player is the best we can hope for MKG if we still expect youth and upside in return.
Warren with 21/8 last night
Warren drops 26 on Durant and Iguodala

Not convinced, he seems like Lamb 2.0 but without his length and a poorer finisher around the rim.

Warren started the year averaging 20/5 on nearly 48% shooting over the first 11 games. Lamb has shown flashes from time to time with an impressive game here and there but has yet to demonstrate that he can sustain it over an extended period. Warren has already shown what he's capable of and if he regains his early season form with more games like last night's now that he's back from injury, PHX isnt going to entertain trading him.
Another player who might be worth targeting is Rodney Hood. He was a monster last year and had a barrage of 20-30 point games but his numbers and utilization are down this year now that Hayward and favors are completely healthy and he is also sharing shots with George Hill. Since they appear poised to resign both Hill and Hayward for the long term, it may make sense floating MKG their way, even if Utah wants to wait until the offseason since they're in the midst of a playoff push.
Hood would easily be a 17-20ppg guy for Charlotte and provide an outside shooting threat. He's locked up for one more year on the rookie scale and like Batum, he has the size to play both the 2-3 also.
Hood

As an NC State guy, I would love to have Warren.

I like Warren. I'm not as high on Hood. Ibaka IDK, but I don't think Orlando trades him regardless. We aren't on the list for Mello, and with his no trade clause he would have to agree to come.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

^ I'm higher on Hood as a prospect than I am on Warren but would be thrilled to welcome either if one of them could be obtained with a package centered around MKG as I believe both have allstar potential.
Like Ibaka's game but suspect he's going to require north of 20 mil a year to retain in the offseason.

I think Ibaka would be a really good fit for this team. If Marvin is included in the deal that would be fine, if not he would be a good piece off the bench to play some at PF and some at SF

The Bulls are toxic, and I believe that they have a good number of players that would immediately do much better here and make us a great team again. The question is what they want back in return. But Rondo, Gibson, McDermott, Lopez, Portis could all be had for cheap.

Re: Fake Trade Thread 16/17 pt.1
just posted a trade on the T&T board where we send out Frank+top 16 protected 1st and our salary filler for Brandon Knight and John Henson.
What do you guys think about a
Kemba/Knight/Roberts
Batum/Bellinelli/[Lamb]
MKG/Lamb/Graham
Marvin/[MKG]/[Henson]
Cody/Henson/Wood
rotation?
gives us a total of 3 open roster spots to go after a little extra depth at the 3 and 4

Would you trade Melo for MKG?...The Knicks are so desperate to get rid of Melo that they'd probably make this deal...Maybe Jordan could convince Melo to come...Hornets could use another scorer to support Kemba..Knicks, on their hand, simply wants to start rebuilding around Portzingis.

Not sure I would trade the 1st for Knight or Henson. I definitely wouldn't do that deal.

No, Ibaka is expiring. Can't risk going into next season without any of those or Ibaka.
