what has portis done? in a 1.5 quarter sample? come on man.

7 minutes, he had 4 rebounds and an assist. Pretty good for a guy who "isn't an NBA player".

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Actually, what got them back in the game Stacey was the starters coming back in and slowing the game down.

He is not an NBA player... not nearly enough offense for the liability on defense.

I would say the sixers without embiid coming back from 20 and winning would be the nail in the coffin for hoiberg, but he has had about 12 embarrassing losses that should have canned him and he still here so, whatever smh

This isn't really an attack on you, but it's a pet peeve on mine when people want a particular player when they are playing well but you hardly hear about wanting said player when they are playing badly. When a player is playing well, of course teams want them, that's why it's difficult to get them because why would the team want to trade away a player who is playing well for them?

I mean, it's human nature of course, and I'm sure I do it too, but it does irk me at times for some reason. Now we had more trade ideas going for players in slumps or who aren't being played but clearly has some talent that isn't being utilized, like maybe WCS, then that would be more realistic.

The Sixers are somewhat void of talent as is, they aren't going to trade someone like Ersan unless we give them a big return, which we shouldn't be doing for a player like him.

I just pulled up the game and the GT, is James Francostein going full Scola on us?

I have always liked him in that stretch 4 off the bench role.

:rofl2:

He has a 12.6 PER and a .530 TS%, not bad for a guy who has played less than 1,500 NBA minutes.

And he's shooting .385 on 3's.

And I'm sure his defense will improve, the overwhelming majority of guys with less than 1,500 minutes of experience aren't very good on defense.

If actual NBA GM's gave up on players as quickly as this board does, players would never develop.

Especially when Ilyasova is going to be a free agent this summer and we can just sign him without giving up anything.

All I see is that the 76ers scored 57 points in 24 min against us playing in Chicago.

Because he's on the last year of his contract i think. And i don't think Phily will give him a new one, i bet they are willing to deal him for the right price

Not all 12.6 PER players are created equal. PFs as bad as Portis is defensively need to be elite on offense to make an impact. Boozer was pretty good on offense and we all hated him as we watched uncontested layup after layup.

My take on Portis is given what he does to your defense, he's not worth it. I'm not one to give up quickly on players, but he has such a huge hole to overcome before he's not hurting you. I am guessing the defense will not improve significantly (all I can do is guess), primarily because he's so slow footed. Right now, he hurts you with mental mistakes and slow footedness and only of those is curable.

About a month or so ago I suggested Mirotic for Ilyasova straight up, but was shot down. I was thinking that the Sixers might like Mirotics upside and the Bulls could use Ilyasova's production right now.
