chuckles. But seriously, doesn't Sheff remember how the Yanks kept giving Strawberry millions of 2nd chances? Very rare that blacks get that many chances & still blow them all. AND STILL NOT GET KICKED OFF THE TEAM. Maybe after he was gone, then things might have changed in how black players were treated.

Yes he is outspoken, but I don't think he would just make something like this up and just throw it out there.

I'm not afraid that there may be some truth to this story. Shef himself swept this issue under the rug while it was happening when he was in New York by not bringing it up then. Now all of a sudden, its a big deal to him. What I would rather have is players bring these things into the light while whatever they claim is happening to them is happening.

So that they can cause bigger problems for their team by dividing the locker room and potentially getting themselves in trouble from the team?

I seriously doubt that was Sheffield's thought process.

I can't say anything about his thought process, and neither can you, but it is a damn good reason why you are wrong about the fact that players should bring it out in to the public while they are still on the team.

the only relationship that would affect is the manager's relationship with the player who feels he's being treated differently. everything doens't have to and shouldn't be handled through the press and if it was handled behind closed doors the way it sould be, then I would suspect that the manager could keep it secret, if he so desired.

Sheffield needs to learn when to shut his mouth. Why would you even bring up a manager from a different team when you don't even play for him anymore? I've seen Torre both hug and reprimand players of all ethnic origins throughout his years as a Yankee, and it's ludicrous to even think about making such statements about a man who, for years and years now, has shown nothing but a gentle disposition towards both players and media outlets alike. This is another stupid thought conjured in the mind of a nutcase who's only credibility is his ability to play ball-a credibility that professional players often use to help somehow validate their ridiculous statements. Sheffield and Lofton's twisted perceptions only further undermine the little credibility they now have in public eye. I'm sure a collective groan escaped from the respective organizations of these idiots shortly after these comments were publicized.

He never will learn when to cut his losses and shut the h*** up. Do you think this is just another PR stunt to get his name in the paper?
