Yah, that one guy demanding either Thomas or Brown or multiple first round picks in this years draft (I guess BKNs isn't enough...) is completely out of his mind.

Got hurt in the playoffs, is currently injured, and it's trade season so that's a guarantee of hot takes about his durability.

With Zizic coming over, having the best Center in the Eastern Conference(Embiid may be creeping into this spot geez), and all of the bigs that teams want to shed, you don't give up big pieces for a big unless it's an all star or there's a nice pick attached. You find the one with the best price.

Assistant coach. Reinforce Celtic tradition.

Avery alone isn't enough for that, even assuming he isn't dealt.

Doubt he'll do either.

I wouldn't want to trade Bradley for Vuc. I realize we need a center but it opens up a hole at 2-guard and might actually make us worse. I would only trade Bradley if I'm getting back a better shooting guard.

We've had several starters hurt in the playoffs the last couple of seasons and I wouldn't call those players unreliable either. Injuries are going to happen. Bradley has played more than 90% of the last two seasons. Can't really ask for more than that.

I thought that Evans guy, who the Magic say is credible, said the Magic want Crowder, not AB

If we trade AB it would want to be part of a deal to get a top shelf talent - the price for V to me is closer to Clips pick & Roz

You don't need to believe in Evans' credibility to understand Magic don't have interest in Bradley. By all accounts, they like Fournier who can only play as a SG because him guarding SFs last season was a disaster. Bradley can defend point guards, but he has to be a SG on offense. They would be solving bigs logjam by creating another worse logjam. No way.
OTOH, Crowder is a perfect player to put next to Fournier, as well as Ibaka and/or Gordon when they're 4s.

Vucevic seems like a smokescreen. They can get a cheaper version in Nurkic...

Just too bad that I like Crowder more than their entire team.

Can see Ainge getting Reddick, but I think they get someone else for AB.

I'd take Okafor if the price is cheap enough.

It's Orlando writers/fans suggesting expirings + some of Jackson/Yabusele/Mickey/Young.

Rob Hennigan is on the hot seat. A few folks I know, know him fairly well. Orlando has long liked Avery Bradley..

I think AB for Vucevic is a good deal for both sides. Doesn't hurt our free agent $$ either as Danny could still open up a max, or close to max slot.

Vice versa, Orlando would be a good fit for AB. Orlando desperately wants to land 1 of the top PG prospects and is super high on Ntlinkina as well.

I would think Hennigan gets canned for sure, his team hasn't improved much at all over the years.

I really dislike him. Danny would have killed the league in his position.

If taking on salary for next year isn't a concern, then I would rather bring in Faired than Vucevic. I know Faried is somewhat limited as a player, but I think someone with a high motor like his would be better than a post scorer. We'll likely need someone match-up with Tristen Thompson and I don't see players like Vucevic or Bogut causing him much of a problem.

With that said I'd prefer to facilitate a Melo to the Clippers deal with us getting J.J. Redick and either getting a big-man like Kyle O'Quinn in that deal or making a separate deal for Nurkic. That way we get better this season and remain flexible going forward.

Trade our best defender for a big that will just get bullied by Tristan Thompson anyway? No thanks.

I recall Ainge once calling Redick the best pure college shooter he had ever seen, and there were multiple reports of Ainge trying to acquire him during the KG/PP/RA era. Don't think it will happen, but Ainge's eyes would light up at the thought of acquiring Redick on the cheap for facilitating a Melo to Clips trade.

So let me get this straight.

We are a team that is struggling defensively. What we really need right now is another big man who can defend.

So, people here are suggesting we trade one of our best defensive players for a big who can't defend?

Full on bedlam. Vuc sucks. Another huge waste of talent in him.

Hopefully Danny has Wyc on auto-ignore right now. The hair controlling his mind is probably drooling over all these mediocre players than would improve us marginally and please the fanbase temporarily.

Preface: I'm a Bulls fan so, naturally, I probably overvalue Jimmy Butler. I am also viewing the current iteration of the Boston Celtics from afar.

With that said, I have a couple of thoughts/questions:

1.) The Celtics just signed Horford and are going to have to commit to IT, how is their window not the next 3-4 years?
- I get the Golden State angle, but also think the Cavs can get got.
- Why sign Horford if the Brooklyn picks are the future direction?

2.) There seems to be a lot of Brooklyn 2017 pick = Markelle Fultz
- Assuming Brooklyn ends up with the worst record, the Celtics still only have a 25% chance at Fultz
- If IT is your PG, it's kind of Fultz or bust, right? Not that you wouldn't get a talented prospect, but Fultz seems like the only real/best "fit" w/the current team and IT+ timeline.

3.) With all of the above, I'm confounded by the fact that Jimmy Butler for Brown, Brooklyn 17, and Memphis 19 hasn't already happened. Maybe the Bulls are asking for more, but I get the sense that the Celtic fandom thinks that's an overpay.

Educate away and thanks for the thoughts.
