Not a big fan of Kurt Vile, but I do love "Jesus Fever."

I thought I was the only Flying Burrito Brothers fan on RealGM. Glad to be wrong :)

Haha, you have great taste in music, SD. Would be fun to compare record collections. Gram Parsons RIP.

It's too bad the second album is mediocre. The Gilded Palace of Sin is a **** classic.

Best country band ever.

I used to buy records and CDs more often than food. The good old times. Now I hardly find anything new interesting, I must be getting old :)

I'm not a country music fan by any means, but I do like quite a bit of Americana/no depression, and FBB were somewhat pioneers in that field. I have to acknowledge that I first learned about Gram Parsons around 2000, when I ran into the video below (which made me a fan of the singer, who happens to be Shelby Lynne's sister). She has an unbelievable voice. If you're into country music, I'm sure you'll like her.

I did know "Hot Burrito #1" way before that, because I was a fan of Belly:

I've been big into instrumental scores. My favourites lately have been " Surface of the Sun" from the movie Sunshine, and the main theme from the movie "Sphere" . Some epic stuff. Also almost anything from Hans Zimmer.

A blast from the past, which at the time was itself a blast from the past :)

I was actually going to share Kiss Them For Me, but saw Dear Prudence on the right and changed my mind. I didn't like KTFM when it came out, but many years later I realized how great it was.

Haha. Ok. As long as you don't get me started on " Friends".

ugh. growing up i had 2 sisters who LOVED friends. owned every season on dvd, could recite the lines to every episode, etc. on family vacations i was pretty much forced to watch episodes. i really despised the show then. now it doesn't bother me so much, mostly because I can change the channel. i always felt like every male character in that show was portrayed as a total moron.

Actually, I think Friends was more kind to male characters than most other shows are. Ross and Chandler weren't really seen as complete idiots.

Nice. I saw them twice in the 80s. Once at Boston Commons and once at the Orpheum. The Orpheum show was the Peepshow tour. What a fantastic show. I still have the review when they compared the lighting to Pink Floyd's the Wall.

Was very excited to go to REd Hot Chili peppers in Boston last night. Missed them in 2012, figured they'd be back soon......................

5 years later I go through security and go to scan my ticket and realized my tickets were for tn not last night. Ugh. I already made the drive in to Boston, paid to park, got drunk (gf drove home), so I go to the box office. Tickets are available. Great where at? Floor. Perfect! I go to the floor expecting to be in the back but I was Dead center, 14 rows back from the stage. Best seat in the house (I don't like being too close, worse sound quality and can't see the production). My original seats were ****. Last row in the balcony. Had a great time at the show and sold my original tickets on stubhub this morning. Now I'm waaaay to hungover for work but great night

By the Way is one of my favorite albums ever.

Missing the last tour with Frusciante was a huge mistake. I had free tickets too, but had just disembarked a plane from Washington at Logan, I was beat. Was that 2012?

I have no desire to see them without him unless I got in free but glad you had a good time. Mixed feelings on their post Stadium Arcadium work but they are great guys and I'm sure they still put on an amazing show. What was the highlight of the set?

Klinghoffer or w/e his name is a good guitarist FWIW, I've heard him guest on various random projects, just not on Frusce levels imo.

Frusciante has been putting out some dope stuff BTW. Great solo artist.

Midway through the show a couple cops entered the theatre and all the joints disappeared. As soon as the cops left, everybody lit up again, lol

Trying to catch up on all the Best Picture nominees for the Oscars. Still need to watch Lala Land, Hidden Figures and Manchester By The Sea. Will watch those this weekend maybe and decide what warrants Best Picture.

Been on a RHCP trip recently. It's amazing to me, but the rare example of a band whose second half of their career was better then their first. Shoot, they were the biggest band in the land for a good year or so in 1991-92, no? And I'd say that like 8 of their 10 best songs came after that, if not 11 of their best 15. Just amazing. Probably the best rock band around from the late 80s onward, maybe by a lot. As a guy who was into them even before Uplift Mofo Party Plan came out, I can say that I definitely did not have that in the pool.

If you took the top 5 best bands I ever saw live, two are ones that I completely did not expect to say that about: Green Day and the Black Crowes.

Saw all three and they were all excellent. Out of those, I'd say Manchester was the best of the bunch. Fences was far and away my favorite movie of the year though.
