President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

In a typical year Beal would make the AS game playing like this. It just so happens that the east pgs are historically strong. It was probably a close call between him and Kemba.
He still might make it if someone gets hurt.

Beals numbers post all-star snub (4 games, 4 wins):
32.7 minutes
59% FG%
43% 3pt%
3.5 assists
2 TOs
23.3 ppg
70% TS%
127 ORtg
104 DRtg
The Wizards have outscored their opponents by 67 points when hes on the floor in that 4 game stretch.
Is he pulling a Dame Lillard and taking his frustrations out on the rest of the league?

Glad he was at least invited. I was disappointed to not see his name among the contestants, especially when Nick Young is one of them. But it's probably best that he rest his body and spend time in the training room instead.

Beal's TS% is 59.1% this season -- that is way up from last year's 54.7%. & last year's was way up over previously. He was at @51% overall his first 3 years.
What's driven that rise?
1. He's getting to the line 30% more often than last year, and he's shooting 81.6% from the line this year vs. 76.7% last year.
2. He's taking 30% more 3-point shots than last year, and he's making them at the same high clip (38.7% vs. 38.6% last year - tiny bit better even).
3. He's taking 10% fewer 2-point shots, but he's making them @ a 52.4% clip vs. 48.1% last year.
As well, his assists are up, his TOs are down, & his fouls are slightly down.
The only bad thing is that his rebounds are down this year -- both defensive boards & offensive boards are down. Effectively about 30% down from last year.
If he rebounded like Avery Bradley, he might be the best 2 guard in the league!

He shouldn't be rebounding, he should be running the outlet and trying to get transition 3's.

Rebounding should be mostly Gortat's and Moriss' job. And it is, which I'm happy with. Brad doesn't need to focus on rebounds but rather on shooting the ball. He has shocked me this season and I'm starting to believe he isn't even close to his ceiling. Volume might rise up in the coming seasons and volume-shooting, efficient Brad is as scary as it can be.

I don't think he needs to crash the offensive glass or anything like that, but it may be prudent for him to get maybe an extra defensive rebound a game. I don't particularly hold it against him since Porter/Morris/Gortat do a solid job on the boards. Him securing a defensive rebound could help start fast breaks as well leading to trailing 3pt attempts for him.
Save for maybe demar derozan... can't think of any SGs in the east outright better then him... and maybe even Demar has debate merit.

Time and again I have seen beals man get an easy offensive rebound because Beal was leaking out early. Beal is the only guy I see doing this regularly.

Agreed, but is this by design? Is Beal just doing what the coach asks of him?

He has been doing this for years. I think he is just trying to cherry pick.

It's by design. Iirc Beal was 90th percentile in transition PPP last season, and around the same this year.
You can't get all the easy transition baskets they get, while also having every player crashing the offensive glass. Gotta pick one

Don't know for sure. But I'm guessing there's a good chance it's by design.

Yeah, I've also seen Burke do it as well but I'm not sure if it is scheme or just poor rebounding. Also, I've seen Beal give up a couple of offensive rebounds when the ball is in his neighborhood. For now that's one of the bigger weaknesses in his game although I am really impressed how he has improved his shooting percentages and shot selection.

So you think 2 different coaches told him, and only him, to leak out early? Doubtful.
If his man takes a corner jumper watch what he does. He will take a few steps the other direction and if the rebound bounces towards his man he will just stand and watch his man get the rebound.
People like to make a big deal about fast break points but the Wizards are averaging only 15 fast break points per game. Most of those are from Wall. Some of the fast break points Beal gets are transition 3s in which case he really wouldn't need to leak out early anyway.

He is just a bad rebounder. At least he is making big strides in other areas.

I refuse to believe he's a bad rebounder when they called him an elite rebounder for his position coming into the draft.

Yes actually, I think both coaches told him to do it.
When Wittman attempted to implement the "pace and space" last year, they designated Beal as the guy to leak out early and pick up quick baskets. Here's an example - look at the play at 2:03
Washington is still one of the best teams at doing that. They're able to score (even off of MADE baskets) faster than just about any team in the league sans GSW. The Wizards offense overall has slowed from 5th in pace last season, to a more manageable 15th in pace. But Beal is 86th percentile in transition PPP this year, clearly Brooks thought it a good idea to continue using Beal in that capacity since he can make a killing on those plays.
I think Oubre and Morris need to rebound a little better when they're on the floor (Markieff has been better lately). He was a strong rebounder last year, but when we go small Kelly often gets pushed out of the way for rebounds and sometimes has trouble corralling the ball.

LOL there is literally not one example in that video where Beal leaked out early and gained an advantage doing so. You act like the 86h percentile thing is actually a big deal. How many points is that per game? How many of those points were transition 3s where he was trailing behind Wall? Just playing with Wall automatically helps his fast break scoring. I see absolutely no reason to believe that leaking out a few steps is somehow making a significant difference in his fast break efficiency.
I have seen too many rebounds that Beal easily could have had if he wasn't lazy or a few steps out of position. It isn't like he is running downcourt when a shot is taken, getting behind the defense completely. He will just leak out a few steps and then his man rebounds his own miss while Beal watches.
He has been a poor rebounder his whole career and it is worse than ever this season. Even as a rookie he didn't box out when his man took a jumper. If Brooks is doing the same thing that Wittman did then why has his rebounding gotten worse?
