Stephen Curry Plans To Play In 2019 World Cup, 2020 Olympics

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Feb 5, 2017 3:36 am

Stephen Curry plans on playing in the 2019 FIBA World Cup and the 2020 Olympics.

"Going forward, I do plan on playing at the World Cup (in 2019 in China), being healthy and being in a good position to be in Tokyo," said Curry.

Curry played for United States in 2010 and 2014. Curry withdrew from the 2016 Olympics following his knee injury in the playoffs.

"I love playing for the USA," he said. "It was taking a lot not to be out there (last year). It's just different and you get to play with the best in the NBA against the best in the world.

"It's a different vibe representing your country. Only 12 guys get to do it every year. It's special."

So he plans to play for free? Destroy his NBA team as he will wind up Injured lose few years of NBA pay as he will be done early.. This is smart move:-)

That's kinda weird having the World Cup one year before the Olympics. Some players are gonna get a ton of mileage playing the 2018-19 Season, 2019 Playoffs, 2019 WC, the 2019-20 NBA Season, the 2020 Playoffs, and the 2020 Olympics.

I wouldn't take players' promises for granted this far out until the World Cup teams are starting to take shape. That's a big commitment players will have to make that could affect their job. I wouldn't taint the bodies of our real Olympic players with having them take part of the World Cup, our B-Team can handle that.
