Lauri markenan is too unique of a talent to pass up. Deadeye shooter at 7"0 who can guard in the pick and roll?! Sign me up. He'd fit perfectly next to embiid. id love for us to get him. Perhaps we can trade jonas + a 1st rounder and move up to grab him

Lauri is a special player. He is going to be a great PF in this league and he is out of our range. :-(

You know what would be a great trade? if we package bebe and the clippers pick for deandre jordan. Perfect fit on our team and there's no defensive atlethic center like jordan in the draft. dude would get 12/12 easily in toronto and fit perfectly. It would be a great trade, hes a matchup nightmare for cleveland.

Playing Clippers Is Win / Win Situation

Post#868 » by CaptainCanada » Mon Feb 6, 2017 7:00 am

Win and LA pick gets even better. After starting the year 14W-2L they have been playing below .500 (17w-18L).

I'm not sure you understand what win/ win means lol. But yes, winning has added effects with the clips pick, if that's what you mean.

How is it win/win? Do you even know what that term means? It means no matter the outcome, you "win" in some way. Not really how we would benefit in any way from the Clips winning. Maybe think before you make a stupid thread.

I think getting an all-star for a bench player and a late first round pick is more than a great trade. In theory it would be the sort of trade that would make fans worship Masai and would get the Clippers front office fired immediately. It ain't gonna happen.

I would love to get OG Anunoby and Cameron Oliver in this draft.

Umm, this is not a "win/win" situation. Beating them has an added bonus, if that's what you mean.

We win and it helps the Clips pick. They win and it helps the Raps pick.

Random thought:

Masai was interested in Giannis and drafted Bruno. He apparently has/had interest in drafting raw, physical freaks in the event they reached their potential. If he were to somehow add a 2nd first round pick in every draft, or every other draft he could theoretically use one on whatever physical freak was available in each of those draft years. With the D League rosters expanding there would be room to keep additional guys on cheap rookie contracts without it really harming the team.
I'm not sure what the odds are of stumbling on to one of those diamonds in the rough like Giannis, Gobert etc., but I suppose if you kept trying you would, in theory, find one eventually. I'm guessing the odds are something like 5-10 percent?
Again, just a random thought since there's not a lot happening with this team right now.

I'm still waiting to hear what kind of knee injury OG sustained. If it's damage to a tendon or ligament, I'd pass. Those do not heal well and can have permanent consequences. If it's a break, then I'd take a chance on him since bones tend to heal better, or appear to. I speak from observation as well as personal experience(I have a rotator cuff tendon issue).
Oliver is a good choice for the Clippers pick. Can shoot 3s and defend, so he's basically another Patterson type for cheap.

If we lose our pick gets better. I'm okay with finishing 7th, gives Masai some more flexibility in finding another hidden draft in the gem. We don't have anymore cap, every draft pick from here on in incrementally more important.
