What ever happened with the Larry Sanders rumor?

I don't know how we could do it, but Tyreke Evans and Terrence Jones, for something could be something to look at.

Burke+Nicholson+some draft pick for Tyreke would be the deal. But he's a free agent after this year.

Playoff bench:
Tyreke
Sato
Oubre
Mahinmi

Had really good per36 numbers, showed some flashes of being able to score and rebound and stretch the floor, a lot of people liked the move at the time.

Now it looks terrible, dude is unplayble. We NEED to move him if we use our 1st round pick

Plus, his physical resemblance to Huckleberry Hound is unsurpassed in league history:

The fourth year would have been a team option if it weren't for that driving the market up.

Idk, I just could never trade a 1st round pick for Lou Williams. We shut him down so easily in the playoffs 2 years ago.

It's him and black...I like black game he's tough and he can make mahinmi expendable...also we get mwp to mentor oubre on defense and give a couple hard fouls a game

I'd still go Nicholson+2018 1st rounder for Will Barton+Nurkic

I was discussing this trade with some guys in another thread, and wanted to get some input on it.

Wizards Out: Kelly Oubre, Ian Mahinmi, 2017 1st, 2018 2nd
Wizards In: Taj Gibson, Lou Williams, MCW

Bulls Out: Gibson, MCW, Valentine, Portis
Bulls In: Mahinmi, Oubre, WSH 2017 1st, WSH 2018 2nd

Lakers Out: Williams
Lakers In: Denzel Valentine, Bobby Portis

Wizards Why: Make a Playoff push in a weak Eastern Conference, while shedding Mahinmi's contract. This would allow us to resign Porter in the offseason. Also, I don't think Oubre is a good fit for us long term, as he would always be the backup for Porter. This fills out our bench quite nicely, while also giving us an improvement over Markieff in the starting lineup.
Bulls Why: Really like the possibilities of Oubre, Receive some picks
Lakers Why: Continue the rebuild by acquiring two young talents in Valentine and Portis.

This is bizarre. Why are we trading Oubre?

And giving up our first in the process? Think about where that trade leaves us in 2 years.. in shambles with no upcoming young talent

Not much reason to trade Evans if you take on 4 years of Nicholson in the deal. Unless we gave a R1 pick. But doing that for an expiring contract.... No thanks.

Terrence Jones is pretty bad. Coming out of Kentucky, I thought he was a lock to be a good NBA player. I was wrong.

Top 5 protected 2018 pick and Smith, Nicholson for Faried?

I think it's best to target our backup 2 issue via this draft. As much as I would like to add Lou or Barton, they have short contracts and will be too expensive to extend.

The Nuggets have two firsts this year so I don't think they'd mind being patient to get our first next year rather than this year. On our end, I think Smith only works well for us as a backup C. I've liked his play a lot lately but when Ian gets back he won't be getting center minutes anymore.

Faried would be worth next years pick I think. Contractually its good. He's only 27 and we'd have him for the remainder of this year and the next two years. Admittedly there's a bit of recency factor inspiring this trade--I didn't enjoy at all watching us get knocked around on the glass by Tristan last night. When Kieff went out, we didn't have another athletic finisher/glass cleaner to replace him. With the way Brooks is coaching now, he's working really hard with his staggering of lineups to hide the bench woes. I think Faried would make his job a lot easier.

Brandon Jennings for Andrew Nicholson, 2017 Wizards First Round Draft Pick and 2017 Wizards Second Round Draft Pick

-Gives the Wizards a bench guard for a playoff run and helps with luxury tax concerns when re-signing Otto Porter when Jennings expires.
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

What were the good per36 numbers, Nat? I don't see them. I thought he was a terrible player and I hated the signing.

I mean... a team takes a guy in R1 then doesn't even give him a qualifying offer when the time comes? Esp. given he earned only 823 minutes on a 35-win team last year?

I can't see what would make a GM think he had any promise at all, let alone sign him for 4 years. I was mystified.

Yeah I agree. A Tyreke rental isn't worth a 1st. I like him as a player though. For a 2nd? Maybe

I mean You could justify giving a 2019 top 20 protected pick for him maybe. kind of the same deal the caves gave for korver.
