Impressive that you put in the work. No idea what the point of this is? To evaluate Ainge?
Good assessment:

That Brooklyn trade was a masterpiece, but everything since is kinda meh. No one knew It would be this so it's hard to give him too much credit there, and he seems too attached to his assets, as the rumor is the hang up between they and the Magic for Ibaka was Terry freaking Rozier

How many of these threads do we need? Danny made some amazing moves, and he's drafted some bust. What more is there to it?

i disagree that ainge has been meh since the brooklyn trade.

if you are solely talking about his drafting then i could see your point but would also point out his recent selections are from finished projects

He's a solid GM. Getting Thomas, taking advantage of the mentally incapable.

lol what?

That Isiah Thomas/Jerebko for a late first trade, trading expiring Jeff Green for a Memphis first in 2019, Bae Crowder (plus his extension) for Rondo pre-eruption, bringing in Turner, taking the heat of selecting Jaylen (with it paying off so far). Several quality moves.

People say why hasn't he cashed in yet, if he did that Brooklyn 2017 pick which is now the league's most valuable asset would have been a throw in for a trade involving Justise Winslow lol. He held out on his assests banking on Brooklyn sucking and it's worked out great. He's built a top 10 team with cap flexibility and two top 5 picks coming up

don't they got Clippers 2018 or 2019 1st round draft pick also?
If Doc blow it up, that could turn into a lottery pick.

As for drafts, he's not good, though Rondo was a good pick. He's better at trading draft picks for players like Ray Allen and IT. So he should deal as much as possible.

Putting together the big 3, then trading two for the Brooklyn picks and the IT trade were all such great moves that I can't see how you can hold too much against him though.

I don't even remember half of those trades but the one consistent thing with Ainge is that his move at the time may seem stupid, but he always has a counter move somewhere down the line. He also is not afraid to take risks and make moves that others stay away from. He has a lot of trust from Celtic ownership in that regard.
Also, not trading Ibaka for Terry Rozier and a first was not dumb for the Celtics. Why make that trade for someone that you probably aren't planning to pay this summer? Would Ibaka make us a better? Maybe? Does he put us over the top? No. Terry Rozier has been mentioned in other trades for more established players so my guess is he is holding on to him as either a back-up for Avery ( should he be traded or not be fully healthy) or b- as a filler for a trade that makes more long term sense. Terry is still young and is still learning but he has played well for us thus far this season. I am not against trading him but I would prefer is be for an actual piece to the team and not a band aid. Honestly, Rozier reminds me of Bradley in the sense that he was lowly regarded for a few years and took time to come into his own. Bradley is not a star by any means, but he has turned himself into a real player and will either help this team or will be a good piece for a bigger trade. Rozier's ball handling is already better than AB's was his rookie year, and his defense is not on Ab's level, but definitely very solid.

 He copy and pasted from basketball reference (http://www.basketball-reference.com/executives/aingeda01x.html ).

Anyways, I think he's very good but not great. He put a hell of a number on the Nets, he put together the big 3, signed an awesome young coach, has a great PG (and depth in the backcourt), drafted well with high picks, and has kept contracts in check while signing guys to good deals. Only reason I wouldn't say he's great is he appears to overvalue his assets at times and isn't great drafting outside high picks (lately, at least).

Anyways, I like him a lot and because I know why OP brought this up, I'm going to say that Ainge's track record is miles better than Phillip's currently is and Ainge never gave a player the luxury of having the worst contract in basketball (or tied for worst).

They're 2nd in the conference. Let's not act like things are broken if he can't pull off a blockbuster.

He's been very good from my pov. Has hit alot of HR's. Got Boston another championship with the Ray/KG deals. The Nets trade might go down as one of the most lopsided ever. He's reloaded the right way too, by not completely tanking. Guy is one of the best imo. I might only have guys like R.C. Buford, and Jerry West ranked ahead of him as far as BBall executives go.

Honestly, Ainge isn't that good.

This is the NBA. If you don't nail each and every draft pick, carefully selecting each pick by perfectly predicting which one will pan out to be a superstar, then you aren't any good.

If you don't win every trade, packaging minor assets to collect a superstar or trading multiple long-term salaried vets for young up and coming stars, then you are sub par at your job.

You've got to win every trade, draft every hall of famer outside of the lottery, turn aging vets into young studs and turn young potential into established stars.

In terms of getting good value in trades, drafting well for their position, accumulating assets, and putting a good product on the floor each night, Danny Ainge is a good GM. In terms of what idiots on real gm want, he's pretty much meh.

His team has missed the playoffs once in what? A decade? He made smart trades and made a quick rebuild without using his best assets.

Ask yourself this, if I told you after the 2010 Finals that one of the Lakers and the Celtics in 2017 would be one of the worst teams in the league and the other would win 50+ games, which one would you have picked to be which? There's your answer.

Being close is all the more reason to pull the trigger on Boggie or Butler or another big name.

He is a good GM, but there is no reason why there should be a third overall pick from last year barely playing on a contending team. There has to be the exchange from future assets into current assets.

Admittedly forgot about the Rondo haul
