Ersan isn't anywhere near the shooter ryno is though. Ersan wouldn't be shooting at this crazy volume or nailing a ton of threes two steps behind the arc.

Also Zach Lowe said guys don't really like Ersan, whereas all of his old teammates seem to love Anderson, and after last year they needed likeable guys

I beg to differ. Ryno is the superior 3pt shooter, but the the % and rate difference isn't a world's appart. In fact, their pretty close.
Per 100 positions
Ryan is .400% on 10.6 3PA's .564 TS% in Houston.
Ersan is .367% on 9.6 3PA's .575 TS% in Philly.

Keep in mind that Ryan has Harden and co. getting him good looks and feeds and Ersan has... not much at all in Philly. Ersan is the superior rebounder, a better man defender, and the better shooter from inside the arch in his career. Don't get me wrong, Ryno's shooting is a dangerous weapon for them and I don't think his 28 foot 3's could be easily replaced or replicated, but I think Ersan would've also feasted on 3pt opportunities while providing a bit of a better all-around game. The Rockets chemistry is off the charts right now though, and Anderson seems like a big part of that.

This season he's close but over their careers ryno has a much better track record of shooting at a high rate and maintaining high percentage. By the end of the year Ersans attempts will go down. No one is scared to leave Ersan too open the way they are ryno

Most have been said above so I won't repeat.

He is alright to me, playing at a level that barely justifies his price tag but you got to give a lot of the credit to Harden. We've yet to see Anderson's post play, mid range game, better rebounding, although he is doing okay in defense.

One thing I don't like about him is he always stands one or two steps away from the 3pt line. Is it because he knows he has a low release point, and low bounce in his jumpshot? To avoid getting blocked, he likes to shoot the ball further than necessary.

No it's to create extra spacing, EG does it too. If you can make them from there, like they can, it's huge for the offense. It's already hard to recover on a pick n pop to the line, it's incredibly hard to recover a foot or two past it

With all of the poor play as of late I keep forgetting that the Rockets still have the third best record in the West!
