I think I would be sick to my stomach if we moved Hezonja.

Re: The Trade Thread II
Zach Lowe wrote about Mario or Payton being traded to Detroit yesterday, on the 15th. The b/r report and tweets came from today the 16th, so it would appear Lowe's article was the original source.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18686427/zach-lowe-andre-drummond-reggie-jackson-detroit-pistons
All of that stuff is in there. Mario, Elfrid, etc.

That leaves only a few plausible alternatives. The Pistons could target a distressed young point guard like Elfrid Payton or Emmanuel Mudiay, and snag a rental wing to make up the salary gap. Mudiay is available, per several league sources, though it appears Denver has no interest in Jackson. Orlando remains an intriguing fit; Rob Hennigan, the Magic GM, was part of the Thunder front office that drafted Jackson, and the team is starting freaking C.J. Watson over Payton.
If Payton doesn't float Van Gundy's boat, the Pistons could reunite with D.J. Augustin. Jrue Holiday could ignite another point guard shuffle if he indicates he won't re-sign in New Orleans; the Pelicans have kicked the tires on Jackson, league sources say, though nothing ever got serious.
They might even flip Jackson for an extra wing -- Mario Hezonja and filler, perhaps? -- ride out the season with Smith, and fill the point guard hole later. But wings are in demand, and teams aren't going to flip proven ones for Jackson right now.

Re: The Trade Thread II
Stan then responded to the Lowe article with classic Stan.
“I’ve heard about it,” Van Gundy said. “He throws a lot of stuff out there, so I don’t know if that’s illuminating. I could write a lot of stuff, too, but would that be illuminating? Would it be illuminating or would it be (expletive)? There’s a fine line between illuminating and (expletive).” 2 hours ago – via Detroit Free Press

As one ridiculous example:
"Orlando trades Gordon and Hezonja for Paul George."
Does that make you sick? I think one must be pragmatic in these things.

I cannot watch Jeff Green play anymore. Trade him or cut him, he HAS to go.

Then follow that up with Biyombo, Augustin and the better of the LAL/ORL 2nd for Drummond? I think that stuff sounds somewhat reasonable.
NOH only 3.5 games out of the playoffs. Give them Vuc to add more consistent scoring to pair with Holiday and Davis, and it isnt too far fetched that they could make the playoffs. Your Top-3 protected pick could be #17.
I don't know. I like Vuc but I think they are farther than him away from getting to the next step. They would need to throw in a contrast as well and depending on how productive that player is...
They've actually been solid since their hideous start to the season. They have been actively looking for bigs to alleviate the defensive workload on Davis though, which most believe is per his request. I don't think Vucevic suddenly makes them a contender, but I don't really think any solitary transaction is going to turn them into a contender. They've repeatedly missed in the draft and free agency, which is why I think they are working so hard to find a big via trade. I think Vucevic is actually a better fit for them than either of Lopez or Okafor.

Re: The Trade Thread II
Mario has years remaining on an outdated rookie scale contract.
Unless we are getting a star back (which we won't), it would be crazy to give up on him now.

Mario looks like one of those guys who's original team can't develop him right and kills his value, then blows up the minute an elite coach gets his hands on him for peanuts.

Re: The Trade Thread II
When Mario plays in the regular rotation, he stands around and rarely touches the ball. When he does he almost never attacks the rim. When he's playing mop up minutes he attacks constantly and looks really good. Why can't he bring this same mentality with the regulars?

Because he's not a good basketball player. It's no coincidence that 4 coaches have refused to play him. At some point you have to stop making excuses and call a spade a spade.

He might not be any good. But he rarely attempts to do anything while hes out there.

Re: The Trade Thread II
Skiles even talked about STARTING Mario his rookie year...that's how impressive he was in camp/preseason.
I'm not saying Mario IS good...I am just saying it's really hard to evaluate him.

Re: The Trade Thread II
I noticed some moments from Green last night that looked like he doesn't care and actually e8shed he was the one who was traded, I think he is a locker room issue too, it here have been several games throughout the season where I can see it in his face that he hates being here, I REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR HIM TO BE GONE, I'M SICK OF IT, I'LL TAKE BIZ 100 TIMES AT HIS CURRENT RATE OVER GREEN GETTING ANOTHER MINUTE AT ANY RATE EVEN IF IT WAS $800K PER YEAR
