People talking about Okafor are nuts and Colangelo isn't dealing Noel. Cousins is a pipe dream. Vucevic isn't as good a fit as TC and his contract isn't much better. When you say "Pass" I'm assuming that makes you a stand pat guy for this year's playoff run. And we already know how that story ends.

I say pass being I'm no fan of paying Tyson Chandler 13 mill per for the next two years.

That's absolute stupidity and something a stupid team like Phoenix does.

Zero chance Ainge is trading for that contract and eliminating any shot he has at signing a big name free agent in the next two off seasons.

Absolute stupidity? Nice.

I see you ducked out of answering the question of whether you want to stand pat or offer a different big man as an alternative. Normally I'd call that a p**** move after having implied your interlocutor's absolute stupidity. But I'm in too good a mood.

Get your panties out of a bunch. This isn't NBA 2K17

Trading for Tyson Chandler isn't going to happen. It's a good thought, he's exactly what this team needs, but it's a move that financially handicaps this team for two seasons.

And somehow not answering a question you never even asked, considering you assumed my stance, is a "pussy move"? Are you in middle school bro? Wow LOL

It's an albatross. Would hinder any free agent moves we could make in the offseason.

Pass.

To upgrade from Amir to Tyson Chandler would be incredible. I would be all for it in a vaccuum.

I feel like with the new CBA, there's such a small chance that a FA would leave his current team, especially when those current teams are as good as the Jazz and Clippers, it's starting to feel like a bad bet to sacrifice a possible run this year for it, and I think there's a run to be made this year. It'd be great if we get a FA, and if we don't hindsight would be 20/20 that it was always the most likely scenario all along. As days go by and we get closer to the deadline, I'm less and less convinced that the big time FA is our best bet for improving the team, based solely on the very low likelihood of it happening in the first place, and am becoming more and more willing to take on salary for the type of improvement Amir to Chandler represents. 11.4 rebounds per game in 27 minutes is huge. For reference: Drummond and Jordan get paid 10+ mil more a season to average less than 3 rebounds per game more.

Hopefully back channels are working and Brad and Danny know something about Hayward's intentions that I don't. He signed an offer sheet somewhere else as an RFA, so there's a little hope there.

Curry is Tom Brady? Curry is equal to the GOAT? You've been in NorCal too long. Curry has a long time to go and a hell of a lot more to prove before he gets close to Brady status. Let me help you out on that one Brady is analogous to MJ there is no other comparison. To top it all off the greatest players in their respective sports never won the title every year neither did either of the big 3. This hypercompetitiveness that you mention is bogus and a cover up because you can't face the fact that you are wrong and been wrong for a long time. You're better than this Cave, I light a candle for you.

Plus, you can leave TC in during the 4th q. of close games cause he can hit his FTs.

The Warriors were able to take this compilation of 2nd tier stars 7 or 8 players deep and added a smart coach who implemented a system that took it to another level. Guys who were the best players on their previous team were now going to be role players on the Warriors.

Trust me this isn't easy DAL who has a smart coach who has done it before can't put the right pieces together even though they keep trying.

I don't think IT is a significant better or more talented player than he was two years ago. His coach, role, the roster around him and how he is used is what has changed. Put him on the Sixers tomorrow he will still be a good player but he won't be somebody talked about as an MVP candidate.

Let me add put IT on the Warriors instead of Curry and the Warriors are still the hands down favorites to win the championship.

Hands-down one of the worst takes I have ever read on all of RealGM.

Only two players in a Celtics uniform have ever been better than Curry has over the last couple of years. Russell and Bird, that's it. Only other one who was even close was KG. Curry miles ahead of Pierce, Hondo, Cowens, McHale, etc...

You don't luck your way to 73 wins with plucky role players.

The guy can't handle being wrong. Steph's a great player, but it's just ridiculous to suggest he can pass Bird.

Talk to me if he gets to 4-5 titles. Can't pretend that isn't possible.

If Curry is miles ahead of Pierce, why has he only scored over 2,000 points in a season once, in this 3-point frenzy of an era, when Pierce did it 4 times in his career?

Bottom line is that his games are on too late for most of you East Coasters, and it's always been apparent that people here were talking strongly about a guy they were barely familiar with.

Complete insanity to downplay what Curry has been doing the last couple of years, and really no excuse anymore. It's exactly like the people who were still calling Brady a system QB as late as a month ago. Where can you even start in responding to that level of utter ridiculousness?

I'm not even saying he will catch Bird, mind you. But he could, and is likely to finish his career as a top 20 player ever, at least.

Two of those Pierce teams won 36 games or less, ffs.

Magic fan here, LOL... but I had a trade idea for you guys AND the Pacers...

Paul George
CJ Miles

for

2017 Brooklyn Pick
Jaylen Brown or Terry Rozier
Jae Crowder

Paul George in the prime of his career (Contract coming close to the end with the Pacers). Comes to a Boston team that is looking to a Boston team that is just another guy or two away. Isn't a ball dominate Star and fits the philosophy of the team.

Pacers get a Potential Star in a deep draft (of their choosing). While in the process getting another high potential guy in Brown or Rozier (Depending who is drafted). Based off potential and drafting history can reload within 2-3 years.

Feels like its a win-win situation for both teams.

I feel like trading for a "Star" is becoming so overrated now. I mean you want crowder (top 10 SF in the league), a former top 3 pick (which most of us believe will be an all star), and a potential #1 pick in one of the deepest and strongest drafts of all time... for one player. Why not just wait until free agency and sign a star, as opposed to wasting all of our prime assets for a player that probably will not even take us over to the top.

IMO, our best course of action is being patient and I feel like Danny's success is directly correlated with this sort of mindset. **** what wyc or the league thinks about "wasting our opportunity for a superstar by not trading our picks". they're just jelly

Zero chance Ainge is trading for that contract and eliminating any shot he has at signing a big name free agent in the next two off seasons.

If you say Ainge wants to preserve capspace and that's why he wouldn't trade for Chandler, i get that. But $13 million per year is the rate these days a starter gets at least paid if not more. That's like $6-7 million under the old cap and that was usually a really cap friendly deal for a team then. I would trade for Chandler because i see very little chance that a major free agent switches teams this summer, therefor it's not as important especially if we look to resign Bradley, Smart and Thomas the following summer. Pre capjump deals are great to have.

I agree they'll be another guy away. But with Thomas/Bradley expiring after next season its hard not to take a gamble and continue just to wait. I mean if they did such a deal they'd still have the money to sign a Blake Griffin (if he opts out) or Paul Millsap. Plus with this Brooklyn Pick they're going to most likely to draft at a position in which they don't need (as all the best prospects are perimeter players).

Boston already has a lot of assets for now and the future. So trading away the potential first pick for a Star whose in the early stages of his prime isn't a bad deal IMO.

What's Nowitzki's situation for next year? He would be a great contributor for our team on limited minutes. He could chase for another ring with us.

This is the response you get when your so wrong you can't even find words. Curry is equal to Brady, dude get a hold on yourself. Brady just willed the Pats back when they were down 28-3, he didn't wilt in the moment like Curry did when the Warriors were up 3-1. Stick to the Warriors' board, front runners seem to be more your speed.

“I don’t think our core group has been together for many games at all this year. I’m looking forward to that after the All-Star break. We’re going to get Avery Bradley and Jaylen Brown back; it’ll take a few games to get acclimated, I think, but after that, the rest of March and April if we can remain healthy, you’ll see what the potential of this team is.”

Danny Ainge. Yesterday.

I actually think for the fanbase as a whole it's not that hard for us to wait.

A lot of other teams like to talk about our "window", and it's valid to an extent, but I think most Boston fans are more than happy to continue to wait rather than pushing everything in and only arguably being in the same tier as GSW/CLE.

Look at it this way, they could add Hayward or Griffin if they're lucky this off-season in FA, draft a perennial all-star candidate (Fultz/Ball/Tatum) to add to Brown on the bench and still have a top 5 pick coming to them in 2018.

Horford/Zizic
Griffin/Yabusele
Crowder/Brown
Bradley/Smart
IT/Fultz

or

Horford/Zizic
Crowder/Yabusele
Hayward/Brown
Bradley/Smart
IT/Fultz

And then adding another top 5 talent in a draft that is supposed to have great big-men.

We strike out in FA? That's ok, we add back guys on unguaranteed deals (like we've done with Amir, Jerebko, Zeller), which are perfect for trade fodder and you've still got 3 blue chip trade pieces in Brown, whoever we take with BKN '17 and BKN '18.

We've got bird rights on Bradley and IT, Smart is an RFA, we're under the cap now and, hopefully, have an owner ready to go well into the tax if need be.

I just don't feel the urgency. I definitely get that there is a potential golden opportunity, but don't think that's necessarily going away any time soon based on the assets/contracts/players we've got.

I don't think the above is in dispute. Curry js the best shooter of all time. It isn't just %' it is angles and ability to shoot off the dribble that make him better than ray Allen and Reggie miller.

Get Bogut via trade for Minny 2nd, Zeller and thats it.

We have to have one big to defend Valanciounas, Gortat in playoffs.
