Ah, I see someone else is waiting for Pompey or Cooney to **** up your whole day. Welcome friend.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Wouldn't be nice to have Noel for the 20ish games Embiid won't play next year? Wouldn't be nice to trade him when he's not an impending RFA and has value?

So you think paying him 17-20m and playing him limited minutes will increase his value? Signing NN to a big contract, during a rebuild, is a direct path to mediocrity. He is neither a star player or fills a need. The Sixers would regret that contract for years, when they can't get to the ECF

Signing a player like him to a big contract during a rebuild is a path to mediocrity if you still need to find your stars from external sources. We don't. We already have 2 stars, or at least 2 players that are heading towards stardom, and probably superstardom.

Noel's value would go up signed to a big deal because he would be signed to a deal. The only reason that his value was in the toilet was because of his impending free agency.

Well its moot now. We will never know. I expect Noel to be resigned to Dallas and to be very important to their team going forward.

Eric said it well, but I'll add... yes, I think Nerlens value would be higher this offseason, next year, or even 2 years from now. He'd likely play 20 mins a game and start 20 -30 games given Embiid's injury history + the Sixers kid glove treatment of him for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't classify that as limited minutes.

He's 22, an elite defender and rim protector, and should continue to get better. I think he'll be more marketable while under contract, and don't believe the Sixers will be stuck with his contract in the way Portland is stuck with Crabbe.

I would've kept him, looked to move him at the opportune time, and not settled for that pathetic return. The Sixers are a couple years away from cap issues, and had available the luxury of keeping him for that purpose.

Can we stop talking about Noel on this thread please? This is specifically for Joel Embiid. People are waiting to see if there is an update on the MRI. If you want to keep talking about Noel, can we do it in the thread that's already on the board?

You guys are delusional, red flags are freaking everywhere and you refuse to look at things logically. There is no world where this is good news. Ditto for Simmons.

I agree with this, unfortunately.

Sadly, no news is usally bad news with this team.
I hope I'm wrong though.

I bet we'll have a timetable on Durant well sooner than on Joel.

Durants supposed to be back in 4-6 weeks

Good thing he doesn't play for us. He'd be out until next December

I heard it's a 24 game protected injury, that means unless this season has 83 games, biid plays next season

Apparently he's with the team in Miami (judging by his instagram story), so I think the MRI results were probably like, "it's swelling caused by the meniscus tear/bone bruise, but it's literally nothing new right now."

The lack of any updates from the team is just dumb however.

Another surgery would be pretty devastating. Embiid's athletic prime will probably expire by age 26.

We just gotta hope that they're shutting him down to recover through rest. If he needs a knee surgery, that's another stepped towards becoming cooked.

So his meniscus tear got worse. After they let him play and practice on it and run and jump and dunk on it.

HOW IS THIS TRAINING STAFF STILL EMPLOYED???

If I'm Embiid I Fing sue their asses for negligence.

Embiid will most likely need surgery on the knee, meniscus tears just don't go away.

Is it another surgery, or is he just being rested for the year?
