I'd be very happy if we drafted him in the 2nd. Third round or even later, I'd be ecstatic.

Any team that drafts Mixon anywhere outside of the first round would be considered to be a steal.

I think Jed wasn't sincere about winning with class.

You just don't reward that type of behavior. Let some other team without principles get him.

And I don't care about how much of a value he turns out to be. You either do the right thing or you don't, the draft pick used doesn't figure into that decision.

Hell if you think what he did was okay, then use a high pick for him, because you're saying talent trumps everything.

His game tape is impressive. This past college season he made one of the best interceptions you will ever see. Reminiscent of Charles Woodson interception when he played at Michigan.

However I don't recall Pozz posting anything in regard to his combine #s that would indicate he performed that well. I might have overlooked it:

Jeremiah relays that in conversations with scouts and evaluators at the Combine, King's work "kept coming up." The Washington product aced athletic testing in Indy, running through the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds and recording some of the best short shuttle and three-cone results that we have seen from a corner in the last 20 years. "This draft is loaded with talented cornerbacks," Jeremiah notes, "but his combination of size, length, ball skills and speed could make him a late-first-round pick."

I'm not going to pretend that I talked to thousands of folks or that I have a real scientific way of doing this but the circles I was in all this week with draft people that I'm friends with, he was among the top 3-5 most talked about prospects following the combine.

I should have just waited for you to provide the #s. Something told me you was already on top of it. Wasted 20 minutes pulling this and compiling your numbers on him. I'm not going to waste my 20 minutes- I'm still posting it even though you already provided it. Lol

Hyde didn't hit this woman nearly as hard as Mixon did, but basically the same situation.

Didn't know about that situation.

I don't know what the team's standards are.

I'm just saying as a fan, I'd have a problem with the team overlooking that kind of behavior.

Apparently the 49ers will put up with it from one of their best players. IIRC, Panthers tried to keep Greg Hardy after his actions came to light, then let him go. Cowboys were desperate so they signed Hardy for 1 year. But after that no team would touch him, even though he was young and still capable of being a high level player.

So I don't understand how teams would blackball Hardy or Ray Rice but then would entertain drafting Mixon.

Hey Crims, my statement was geared more towards King's placed in history in the combine. I'm very much familiar with that very resourceful link on NFL dot com website. However Pozz tends to give us a little tibit regarding a particular prospect's placed in the event with history. A cool fun fact that gives us the reader a perspective of where the player ranks in history. Good info to make player comparisons going forward. Essentially what I was saying in my initial post was that I didn't recall seeing anything from Pozz that would indicate that king is the quickest or the most agile corner the combine has ever seen.

Yeah, we're lucky to have Pozz on this board. He's always got great info. I was mostly giving you a hard time, didn't mean to be as snarky as that may have come off. But also wanted to pass along the resource in case you didn't know it was out there. But yes, historical perspective can be very important for these types of comparisons.
