That would be the best press conference ever.

SVG - "Given our lack of performance this year, I've decided to let myself go."
Press - "Stan, do you have any comments on that?"
SVG - "Frankly, I'm disappointed with my decision, but I think it's for the best."

I would gladly give Reggie Jackson to any team for free to get to see that press conference.

I'm cool with Stan staying on as President. I just want him off the court. He's lost whatever magic he has with this bunch.

I think we're safe on Chicago winning.

Anyone look at Draft Express' mock drafts? The number 10 pick in this draft is more valuable than a top 3 pick in last year's draft. You can get a guy like Malik Monk in the middle of the lottery! That's guaranteed firepower outside the top 5 projected picks. Too much talent to chase a 4 game sweep by the Cavs in this draft. This is why I'm turning on SVG as team president. He's only looking for short term answers.

To be honest, I'm not sure which one I'd rather leave him with. Because, on the one hand, he's not handled the rotations of this team very well. But they're awful at shooting. But he's also the guy who refuses to put shooters on this team... I honestly don't know which one is more detrimental.

He started with nothing though and acquired some assets. Him and Bowers have been good on the trade market.. Drafting is still too early to tell. Johnson and Ellenson are too young to really gauge what they are. Devin Booker sure does look good though..

It just really really angers me seeing a team like the heat with half the talent that we have yet they play their butts off every game and seem to really care about winning.

lol. With how poorly our team, I'd be elated if we had Tyus Jones, Jodie Meeks, Doug McDermott and Channing Frye.

I'm still smarting over sitting out the trade deadline.
We know Smith usually benefits the team more, but he's on the bench and we didn't move Jackson.
We are forced to argue about Johnson/Harris/Morris/Leuer, having three SFs and three PFs between them, but we can't regularize any particular arrangement. I have advocated for a platoon system for other versatile Pistons squads, adjusting the rotation on a nightly basis to adjust to our opponents, but we're half-in and half-out this year. As it stands, our favorite (Johnson) is usually on the bench and our least favorite (Leuer) is usually starting.

SVG only has two years left on his deal after this one wraps up. Gores will give him next season, but will probably let him go if he's fed up next summer. Odds are, we'll go back to a traditional set-up in the front office once we abandon the SVG experiment.

Holy hell. How many people are there? That place looks deserted.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Only if they're having an off shooting night. Otherwise my money's on the 8th graders

We just aren't trying at all. I honestly wonder if they're giving up on the season. If we don't make the playoffs, you have to come back with at least 3 different starters and a whole new bench next season. Actually... We should probably do that regardless.

and why bench Stanley for Morris when SJ had a decent start to that half? After two and a half minutes? What?

I am happy that Andre is taking it to Gobert; I am not happy that Andre only seems to have one offensive move.

Return to Detroit Pistons
