GT: March Madness // NCAA Tournament Talk

Post#1 » by Mecca » Sat Mar 11, 2017 11:55 pm

This is by far my favorite time of the year, and I wanted to spur more debate on the actual NCAA tournament rather than strictly draft talk.

WV - Iowa St - At the half. Close game. WV's offense looks stagnant.

Duke - ND tonight looks to be a classic.
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles
Joel Embiid - Taj Gibson - Kevon Looney

That Arizona vs Oregon game is going to be wild also

Oregon ran them out of their building the last time they faced off. I really like the grittiness and confidence of that Oregon team. They might not be the most talented team but man when they lock in defensively they are tough to beat.

I really want to see how Arizona responds this game. Lauri got absolutely destroyed trying to guard Dillon Brooks but obviously he just could not stay in front of him. Brooks is 6'7" and Lauri is a 7 footer. The Arizona guards also need to do a lot better of taking care of the ball and knowing how to handle the full court pressure that Oregon blitzed them with into submission last time.

Grayson Allen has been awful tonight. So many careless turnovers

Allen has been a sinking ship this season and it has been frustrating to watch as a fan. He would be wise to come back another year and try to salvage his reputation if he wants a shot at the NBA.

Tatum took over late with some great baskets and heads up plays. He really came out of nowhere in the last 4 minutes and sealed the game. I know Kennard won tournament MVP but Tatum really shined and raised his stock. Notre Dame played a hell of a game and Bonzie Colson was on another level. This team will give teams fits in the tourney. Finally Harry Giles should not be a first round pick this year and should stay at Duke another year. He needs time to develop and that has really showed this season. Any team that would take him in the first let alone late lottery where he is being projected are fools.

Arizona beating Oregon was surprising considering the last game they played each other Arizona lost by i think 38. What the hell happened to Boucher? He looked fine in the semi finals and was hopping around on the bench last night. I have never seen a guy with a torn ACL moving like that a day after the injury. I say the fix was in here....

Same bro. They're one of my sleepers. Beilien has been my favorite coach since his Mike Gansey/Pittsnogle days with WVU. They play next gen basketball.

I'm picking Arizona to win it all, so I'm sure they'll be eliminated by the weekend lol

OT: 2017 NCAA Tournament Games Thread

Post#12 » by HarthorneWingo » Fri Mar 17, 2017 3:39 am

I'm watching the ND v. Arizona game. They have a cute sideline reporter, Jamie Ehrdall. But she appears to have "man hands" which is a little weird. Was wondering if anyone else noticed.

Anyhow, I thought I'd kick things off.

Lets try to keep game thread talk in this thread. Keep the scouting report/mock draft talk to the sticky. It gets to hard to find the good analysis of players people post when banal game thread talk such as "nice shot" dominates the sticky thread.

They might have some trouble with Louisville though...that is a tough matchup with the way they are playing defense.

Kidding. You're absolutely right - I still don't understand how it happened either...flabbergasted.
