Dunn was the "name" but I always thought it was Bentil that carried Providence the last year or two. Dunn was foul prone, turnover happy and his jump shot was a mess. His age was always working against him too, so my hopes weren't too high for him.

I'm not sure that people know this is a bumped thread. The early posts indicate that there were high hopes and I'm sure expectations have been tempered a bit by this point.

He's gonna be bringing Jonny Flynn levels of excitement to the twin cities for years to come.

And I hope the comparisons in this thread are satire.

They were mean? Hopefully you didn't carry that pain around for a long time...

Speaking of Jonny Flynn, I hope Jamal Murray doesn't Steph them in this scenario

Stilll think he can make it.

Billups took a long time, so can Dunn!

Not a fan of his. Don't really think he'll be anything too special.

Said before the draft that his name was getting hyped up because it was such a weak draft and people needed to convince themselves that more than 3 people were worth getting drafted in the top 5. He shouldve never been a top 5 pick, he is a guy you draft after the lottery. Hes an old PG that cant shoot and had a so so 2/1 ast/TO ratio. Its crazy to believe that he is only 12 days younger than Marcus Smart.

I thought his ceiling was a good solid starting PG but probably was going to be a solid backup for most of his career. Hes a horrific offensive player but his defense will keep him around in the league.

I think atm he is best suited as a defensive off-guard who defends the best opponent guard. He's athletic, has long arms and plays bigger than he is. His defensive insticts and motor are great. he's a good dribbler but tries to be fancy too often. He's also one of the worst offensive players I've seen in a wolves uniform, his shot is beyond ugly and despite his athleticsm he can't get to the basket, he's decent in the open court. I see some of Trenton Hassell in him, but with better ballhandling, athleticism and passing. It's not what you expect from a fith pick though.

Draymond Green was an older rookie who couldn't shoot. Neither Demarre Carroll nor PJ Tucker could shoot as rookies.

I think there are some flaws in your logic here.

What is most mindblowing is that the rookies themselves voted this year that Dunn would be ROY... It's hard to believe that those guys got it THAT wrong; after all they are the ones that played against him.

That makes me think he can still become a decent NBA player. I wonder how it is possible for so many of these young guys to have such a weak jumper. We see time and time again players whos success depends basically on the fact if they will learn to shoot well enough. Isn't shooting like the most basic part of basketball? How can some of them struggle so hard is beyond me.

I mean there are a million tutorials on youtube on how to shoot and how the best shooters do it. And they have specialized coaches for that. And still with so many of these guys you just cringe once they release the ball.

So nothing like Rondo.

... And Dunn has always raked in a lot of assists.

There is so much wrong here, when you could have just said his defense was good.

He was leading ROY favorite in pre season GM survey. Shows how little even GMs know sometimes.

Always found it funny that prior to season ppl brought up buddy hield age for his perceived limited potential but ppl gave free pass to Kris dunn old age as rookie. Now that he's been stinking it up..his age is brought up as red flag and the case of we should have seen this coming.

No matter how old you are, there is still a learning curve for those coming to the NBA.

On defense: Dunn needs to learn to stop fouling. Other than that he's already above average.

On offense: There's a lot to work on, but the biggest thing is to learn the importance of balance on a shot. He's going way too far forward from where he leaves the floor to where he lands.

I think Dunn will be fine.

In the meantime, we have Rubio, who looks to be turning the "Kidd corner".
