KU just couldn't offense or defense when it came down to needing plays. Oregon had some nice performances from several guys.

Bell is playing one helluva game. 8 blocks. Sick.

I remember 11-30 with these guys. ^

Almost had a triple double, while passing the ball well.
Devonte Graham sure did pick the wrong game to have the worst game of the season. He was one of KU's big three and he was off all night. Tough.

I'm liking the look of this potential Final Four though. Oregon, Gonzaga, maybe SC, and then one of UK or UNC. I'd probably be pulling for Oregon or Gonzaga. Gonzaga has been strong for a while but never with substantial results.

I really like this kid Thornhill from SC. He'd fit nicely on our team.

Truth is that in the range where we'll be picking, you probably have to go after best player available simply because ALOT of these mid rounder guys never amount to anything.
So you might pick the guy that brings that skillset you want but :
1) he's never going to be a good enough overall player to get big minutes
2) Your needs might change much sooner then you think (Hassan or Justise trade for example)
3) BPA might turn out so good he'll leapfrog positions you thought you had covered :
A) Let's say we draft Booker last year, isn't it possible we decide to trade rich and Let Mion go once Booker showed his worth?
b) Let's say we drafted Turner last year, isn't is possible we trade Hassan for an all star wing?
While I tend to look for player that "fit" our current team, smarter minds will probably focus on pure talent - the guys that can really blow up when reaching the next level.

If Booker was on this team he'd be playing off the bench because of his severe lack of defense and intangibles. You think Booker would be putting up these numbers playing on a real team? All he's good for is scoring so he should have a fantastic career as an off the bench scorer. If Okafor or Kanter were the best active players on their teams then they'd be averaging 20+ppg too.

Gonzaga, Oregon, South Carolina, and North Carolina are in the Final Four.
SC and NC should be fairly obvious. Neighboring east coast states.
Gonzaga is in Washington state. So Oregon could be South Washington, per se, and Washington could be North Washington. West coast neighboring states.
They're aligned in different sides of the brackets, so the championship game could be fairly intense regional rivalries depending on how things played out.

Not many will remember his performance tonight, but those threes Monk hit to keep the game close were super clutch. Great shot maker.

If Winslow gets the benefit of the doubt of being terrible on offense because he's young you have give Booker the same too on defense.
Booker showed defensive skill in college so I think Its all about the coaching if he played on a better team he'd probably be a defender than what shows. If Dragic can become a better defender in a better system Booker can too. Also lack of intangibles is such a vague criticism don't see how you can use that against him, list what you think he lacks.

Offense skill is limited to your IQ and ability to make shots. Defense is a whole other monster. Winslow shows flashes of potential in offense, he can handle, he can pass, he can get by his man. He can't shoot and that is the ceiling to his growth. It's relatively easy to learn to shoot or be a solid shooter. Not elite; just solid. To be a solid defender is HARD. I don't think booker has shown flashes of defensive potential. Ever. But better a suns fan tell you that than me. But it could be because he's not in a defensive system in Phoenix like he would be had we drafted him. I mean hell, look at babbitt and Ellington.
Winslow was playing with a damaged shooting wrist most of the season and then tore his labrum to end it. You think he's bad now? We might not see **** out of him until he's like 24. :/

Within a system you can learn to be a passable defender. Offense is normally talent based

A very strong No. Don't want anything to do with those knees, even if his potential is high.
