Gsellman was announced as our 4th starter. Harvey pitched great reaching 97 mph. Matz has a sore elbow and looks like he'll never be a stud. Lagaras strained an oblique the other day. News at eleven.

Thankfully we have Gsellman and Lugo.

Matz says it's just stiffness but I dunno.

Wheeler with 5 scoreless innings today on only 69 pitches. Lugo got hit hard by Washington in our other game. Any news on David Wright's health?

Good news on Wheeler. Lugo probably (hopefully) taking it easy after the WBC (how did he pitch there?). As long as Lugo's not hurt, I still feel good about him.

Oh, and Montero is having a terrific spring also. i believe he might be out of options. Will they keep him or trade him? You would think that Bruce plus a hot Montero would bring us back a nice player.

Harvey on the open market IF he bounces back this year, would easily price himself out of a Mets uniform. He could be excellent trade deadline bait, but if we're competitive and we should be what's the point of trading him?

If Matz and Wheeler are productive then I'd trade Harvey for a 3b cause you know Wright won't be healthy or productive.

Harvey's value is too low right now to think of trading him. Sandy doesn't do those things.

I think mugs meant assuming he proved himself healthy. When's Harvey's contract up? This year or next? I think next.

theoretically, if Harvey is having a recovery year, we may get him on a "discount" compared to the ungodly contracts that a healthy Thor or DeGrom would get on the open market. Yankees would obviously be a play for Harvey. The great thing about it is that we can offer the QO and get back a 1st after the year.

Why would you go after a 3B when you have Reyes? He's your best asset for stolen bases and table setting the lineup. Wouldn't be shocked if he had a 15/25 year with 90 Runs Scored
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles
Joel Embiid - Taj Gibson - Kevon Looney

Reyes is excellent and is a real steal for us. And he's only making $535,000 in salary which is just ridiculous.

They scratched that rule. You only get a 2nd or 3rd rounder depending on the team that signs the player

Wingy I did mean if Harvey had a bounce back year I thought he's a free agent in 18. And as far as Reyes, I like his grit but I don't trust his health. But great player for that contract. This team will go as far as it's lineup. That's been the Achilles.

Matz and Lagares will start the season on the disabled list. Shades of last year.

Well the Rockies owed him like 40 Million dollars still, so it's always the case for the second team. It's one of those messed up things in sports, the waived player always lands in a better situation for himself. Either way, it's finally nice to see the Mets being able to cash in on that.

Wheeler being named a starter is nice to see, but we're looking at someone who will probably get shut down at All-Star break, sounds like the Mets are hoping Matz can get healthy and kick it in gear at some point. Familia only getting 15 games is pretty huge, probably going to be just a few games he would've pitched in. Happy to see Conforto make the team, even it's only because of the injury to Lagares, but man the kid needs to play.

Happy baseball is here, needed something else to watch aside from the Rangers.

I'm hearing that David Wright still can't throw and I'm guessing can't swing a bat either. What to do with him?
