Gotta say, I like Rougned Odor more now. Not only did he want a pony in his contract, he wanted two, and got them.

This will be fun to watch. It's been a subject of debate for some time: whether those strong-armed position-to-pitcher conversions could be two-way players, saving a roster spot along the way. It's not a wholly new concept (Brooks Kieschnick had a brief time in the sun as a backup OF/reliever), but Bethancourt's probably the perfect test subject, as his secondary role as a good defensive backup catcher means that he's a part-timer anyway on a generally consistent schedule. Also, you don't need to worry about his bat degrading with the extra workload, because Bethancourt can't hit anyway. Can take some inspiration from cricket in that regard, as competent batsmen/bowlers are a common and indeed necessary feature.
Chances are he'll fail at both, but it could be fun. Insofar as anything involving the relievers/backup catchers of the Padres can be fun.

Sigh, EE continues to rake in Texas. Going to be tough to watch him with the Indians.

He's really, really good. I feel he was far less heralded than Profar, Andrus, Gallo but passed them quite easily.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors,they have zero to chance to win it all.

Always feels like Cecil takes a good two months into the season getting wrecked before deciding to properly pitch. Then he'll rattle off like 25 scoreless innings lol.

STL mefia already calling out Cecil;

I really like him. Hopefully he can bounce back. But im glad we didnt touch that contract; most i would have done was 21M over 3 years.

Orioles Sign Edwin Jackson
April 7: Jackson passed his physical, and the Orioles have now announced the deal.
He has done the impossible.

Dang, was hoping we could get Castro back from the Rockies after they DFA'd him. He still has potential to be a solid reliever.

Re: Around the MLB 2017
Being down 12 in the first inning takes some of the suspense out of it:

Turned on Sunday Night Baseball and saw that Syndergaard was pitching. Changed the channel because I'm still not able to move on yet.

Looks like Eric Thames is the one that got away. Just hit his 7th homer, now averaging 1.50 OPS
