The cavs were a bad defensive team throughout the regular season yet in the second half were very affect on George because they consistently swarmed and doubled teamed him and took the ball out of his hands
Why doesn't Indiana simply do the same to Lebron? Why wouldn't you swarm, blitz, and double him every time? If someone else beats you so be it

That's not what people have thought was the best way to go about defending LeBron. The idea was always to make LeBron a scorer and not a passer. He's a much better passer than George is.

Lebron could easily average triple double in RS if he wanted to.

Because LeBron is one of the best passers in NBA history and will find a wide open 3 pt. shooter. Paul George isnt near the passer out of double teams.

If you double LeBron--you are giving a wide open 3pt shot to Channing Frye, Kyle Korver, JR Smith or Kyrie Irving. Thats not something you want.

Just came in to say Lebron James is on another level. There's no denying his talent but whats even more impressive is his basketball IQ. The game slows down for him and he just sees things differently.

So those guys payed 48 mins? As a defense, you can rotate and allow a guy to shoot the ball...McMillan is terrible and didnt cover Frye and Korver and allow Shump and D Will to shoot the ball

Your idea works in theory only. In reality their will be off ball movement, off ball screens will be set, cross match ups in transition, and Williams and Shump can make wide open 3's. Also like people have mentioned that game plan may be the worst to use against James out of any player ever outside of Magic. I am 100% sure he will tear your double team and rotations to pieces. He has seen every defense possible 10x over. He just makes it look easy. Dude scores 30+ and gets 10+ assists without playing selfish at all.

If something is easy then it would mean that he wouldn't even have to try and therefore he would have already done it multiple times...

Maybe what you mean is that Lebron could average a triple double in the RS if he put every effort into doing that.

This is the NBA, you dont really get to pick the 1 guy out of 5 you always want to take the shot for the other team.

Can't wait for the "Is MEM the biggest threat to the Spurs" thread coming soon tonight.

But real talk, MEM was due AT least one after being 0-10 against them in the playoffs since 2012. Weird bball night. Spurs and Raps and almost CLE blown out of the gym. Gotta love playoff bball.

Yeah, we knew the Grizz were going to respond; I just hope the postgame reporters are prepared to take Pop's interview for data.

Your Cavs, though... MANG! I'm pulling for you guys to come out of the East, and tonight's game was AWESOME ( in the second half, anyhow-- ha ha).

My wife and I went out to watch the game tonight and I told her to be ready for a very unfriendly whistle in Game 3, at Indiana, with the Pacers down 0-2. Even having prepared myself, I wasn't ready for what I saw in the first half.
