Nurk doubtful. Yet again it appears they're airing on the side of extreme caution which Sure beats what they've done in the past!

Likely the team has known from the beginning whether Nurkic would be playing.

Safe to say, if he sits tomorrrow night, he's sitting Monday night as well.

I think its just being overtly cautious, especially since Nurkic showed that he could be a huge piece for this team going forward. We have been looking for that 3rd player that could compliment McCollum and Lillard since the big restructuring after Aldridge. I doubt they want to throw that away by rushing him back, I'm sure part of this caution might be coming from Paul Allen himself.

Like I said on the general board today, even with a healthy Nurkic we have at best what a 7-9% chance of taking the series, and that may be a bit generous.

Nurkic is a 280 pound guy with a fractured bone in his leg. Fortunately, it's a non-displaced fracture. But I thought that the "2 week" time frame seemed too optimistic; the doctors are likely erring on the side of caution, but it really hasn't been that long since the injury. It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't play in either of the next 2 games, and that might be all there is left

Yeah, I think that might be a little high actually.

I have a feeling he'll play. They could of just kept his status to "out," and if he's listed as out... he CAN'T play, per league rules. The fact that he's listed as doubtful, basically means hes a GTD, and they can choose to play him at the last second. Unless they're trying to play some mind games, I don't see why they wouldn't of just kept him as out.

Also, I read on another Blazers forum that yesterdays practice was open to the media before practice, and apparently the media usually is allowed after practice, or something like that.

I may be wrong, but hopefully I'm right, would love to see him out there! There's no way they'd play him if he wasn't 100% cleared by doctors, so I wouldn't worry about risking him if he were to play, personally.

I just looked it up:

since the NBA went to the best-of-seven in first round match-ups, the 8th seed has beaten the 1 seed three times. All three of those series were tied 1-1 after the first two games; and in all three series, the 8 seed led 3-1 after the two games at home. Blazers won't have either of those advantages. So, they'd have to do what no other 8-seed has ever done

Nurkic may have given the Blazers a pretty good chance in game 1, but after the way Portland collapsed in the 4th Q, I'm not very confident about that

I think they know for sure if Nurk is playing or not. If they say it too early that he is out it will for sure effect the attendance.
Why would you want to view another blowout like game 2. Game 2 at least for me was unwatchable.

Him being out wouldn't affect attendance.

The place will sell out with or without Nurkic. Blazers fans are loyal regardless of how good the team is doing. Tickets were already sold so Nurkic affects nothing, except maybe the outcome of the game. Not saying whether he's playing or not is about strategy and game play. Keep em guessing so they spend their time coming up with multiple strategies with or without Nurkic rather than being able to simply focus on the Blazers playing without him.

I don't see a point and risking Nurk. We aren't winning the series either way.

Woj reporting that Nurk will be a game time decision after he warms up with the team. To me that gives me some hope he might play, as it seems strange if they were 'truly' relying on on-coart warm-ups in this instance.

F that. If Nurk can play, then play. I wanna see the blazers win ONE more time before next halloween goddammit. I don't usually get annoyed with players being injured and choosing to play it safe, but it really bothers me he hasn't played the first 2 games. He said he could, but didn't. It probably has a lot to do with the front office not wanting to risk anything, but still, it's very frustrating.

AHA! Illness has forced Kerr to succumb, surely fate is on our most righteous side.

Warriors are straight-up resting guys, including the coach, for playoff games. You gon' just take this, Blazers?
