jj's been locked down for 3 straight games. i think he's mostly been solved and that utah is all too happy to keep it that way. if you look at the spurs series a few years ago, when they put kawhi onto jj, every game was a lot more favorable for them. when kawhi wasn't shadowing jj, the clipper offense opened up dramatically.

it's just too bad for the clippers that doc rivers takes jj's being "ineffective" as reason to give crawford more minutes, when really he's swapping mitigated effectiveness for extremely inefficient effectiveness. it gets even worse when you're adding in that doc continues to give paul pierce playoff minutes, as pierce/crawford are an atrocious defensive pairing.

the team is up 2 to 1 and i honestly am not sure they can win the series going on like this, because i don't expect redick to really get going. and if that's the case, and especially with blake gone, that means crawford will continue to be the one of the worst players on the floor getting heavy minutes.

At this point, I see JJ in the same category as Jamal was prior to the last couple years: a regular-season-only player who can never be relied upon in the playoffs. (Jamal has moved out of that category because he's now just as trash in the regular season as he is in the playoffs.)

Yeah, Hayward not being LeBron is killing us.

Or Hayward being a little bit more like Joe Johnson in closing out games. Gordon's a star but he needs to take it up another level late in games.

Lol. Just FYI, Gordon Hayward set a Utah Jazz playoff record for points in a quarter in this game.

Hayward isn't stopping us from being a serious contender. Injuries to Hill, Favors and now Gobert are the reason.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Griffin's impact is overrated these days IMO.

Jazz don't have Gobert and Favors is certainly not healthy.

Wish we could get healthier playoffs. It just seems like big names are dropping out way to much lately.

They better be pretty confident he's not at risk for longterm re-ingury if they rush him back. This guy could be a franchise cornerstone for many years. Trying to hurry him back to win a 1st round series should not be a priority.

This series is starting to feel academic. Neither of these teams in their current state will take more than a game off the Warriors.

He's a 6th man type. Especially, giving how low his minutes are for a starter. The fact that they refer to him as apart of their "core 4" shows you just how much they've f'd up building around CP3/Blake/DJ. He's the only other player thats really worth a damn at both ends so its a "core 4"

I mean, you dont see the Cavs include JR Smith into their "core." Its LBJ/Kyrie/Love and everyone else

My son is at the game watching warmups. He just texted me that they just confirmed that Gobert is playing tonight!

Hmm. I wonder how close to 100% Gobert is and whether he can make an impact. Jazz sure need his rebounds.

So glad Gobert is back. 70% of Gobert would still be a very damn good player.
