Saying Luka Doncic is better than prime Hedo

So many insane takes on one page

kobe made teams better, (showed up in the win column). not players around him better.
nash made players around him better, lebron makes players around him better, curry makes players around him better, nikola jokic makes players around him better, harden makes players around him better.

not kobe, joe johnson, or westbrook (even if the averaged 5, 5, 11 assist).

what is your take on doncic? but not described in a way to criticize other peoples opinions?

shure, kobe and the lakers were a hotspot for players telling their agents: get me to the lakers, i wanna play with kobe. kobe is gonna make me better. :)

thats why kobe his last 4 years was a non factor. once his explosivnes was gone, meaning he couldnt score on scrubs, he was useless.
and thats why lebron will still give teams wins in 6 years. because of his vision, rebounding, passing ... westbrook once he looses a step will be soon gone. since teams wont need him for his 30% 3p percentage and ball hoging.curry will be able to spot shoot for 10 more years if he wants to.

so who are those players with career years because of kobe, besides his girlfriend vujacic? :)

Pretty much any laker that played with him 06-10. Anyways, this is not a Kobe thread.

Just thought I'd point out the absurdity of some of the assertions being made in this thread.

true, because this is a doncic post i asked about your take on him, ( wich wouldnt come in form of criticizing others opinions on him), but you didnt answer. instead you choose to get offtopic yourself.

Correlation =/= Causation

What a bad argument. That proves nothing.

Call it what you want.

Any argument about "making others better" is going to be more subjective than objective and rely on correlation.

My thoughts on Doncic are in this thread....My evaluation hasn't changed and I don't feel like retyping it to argue with Mirotic and crew for another 2 pages.

Shure, i understand. But you do feel like taking random bits and quotes out of context and making them into an offtopic argument?

That sounds like the logical thing to do :)

Curry's defense wouldn't pass the muster in any good European team.

No one would really care about Teodosic's defense, if he was playing in the NBA.

Prime Hedo was definiely better than curretn Doncic. Prime Hedo is easily an Euroleague MVP candidate.

would win the award easily. he was leading efes at the age of 20 while efes was more respectable in europe than these days.

Yeah, Hedo is like bigger Siskauskas. Do you think 18 year old Doncic is better than Siskauskas, I mean come on.

OLY is toast man, thats what I was saying. I knew this series is about to go south when they lost game 2 at home despite vintage Spanoulis and Printezis performance. When Spanoulis is off, this team is no match for Efes. Their offensive talent is pitiful.

If Doncic was a black American player, none of these heated arguments would exist, or at least not to this degree. When a white European player is hyped, people come out of the woodwork to belittle their talents and nag on their weaknesses instead of realizing what gifts they have. And I'm not saying this is a racist thing, it's a cultural thing. NBA fans stereotype the living crap out of white players, and when they are white and European, forget it. There is no chance for legit discussions. We've seen this in the Jokic thread, and he already played like a top player this year, so naturally, this will happen more in a thread where the subject is a 17-year-old white European kid. Obviously he is doomed, right?

it is interesting how those people have so much to say when he does not play so well but when he plays soild and he deserves a praise for that they always quiet. So much about objective posting.

Considering those of us that criticize him do so in the basis of his natural, athletic weaknesses, a good or a bad game won't change that.

Scoring 30 points and getting 10 assists won't change the fact that everything people say about his lateral quickness and burst are true.

When he has a good game, it's not because of his athleticism, it's DESPITE of it. I already know and agree he's a great prospect with amazing IQ, instincts and passing.

this. one game doesnt matter. what matter is how he will progress in next season... sure i am glad he had great game. But for his draft stock most important aspect will be home much did he improve during off season.

so yeah.. all this BS comparing him as current player is just that.. BS.. we need to see where he can be. Can he improve? i belive so, many here dont.

Black American players with slow feet, no ISO ability and an inability to finish around the rim don't get criticized?
