Doctors expect him back in September. If we could walk away with him and another CB then it makes it much easier to trade Sherman after this season.

Sidney Jones looks like an amazing ball hawk.

He is. Problem is the Achilles injury. He likely won't be ready by September imo. It takes 9-12 months to fully recover. I would consider him late 3rd. Maybe our 4th if he's still around.

Read on Twitter

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks made two trades last night -- one we predicted Tuesday, but the other was a bit of a surprise. As a result they have the second pick of the second round when the draft starts tonight. Three of the players I’m told they like -- Kevin King, Forrest Lamp and Chidobe Awuzie -- are still available. This is how you work the draft.

Eh on McDowell. Hopefully he stays motivated but that's not the greatest sign if that is his weakness.

I trust Pete & John. Preferred Lamp. But, whatever.

This pick screams Robert Nkemdiche. Huge upside but underachiever.

I want to trust them but it was so hard last season watching that offensive line they put out there last season. i feel that it cost us on every level last season I believe it was so bad it hurt us not only offensively but defensively as by the end of many games the defense was worn down from being constantly on the field

Finally an o-lineman. A center. Still need to add tackles

He's going to play Right Tackle according to reports.

No chance he is a Tackle with his crappy athleticism and combine scores. Edge ushers would eat him alive. I'm guessing he is a guard.

Having not really followed college football, I've liked what we've drafted for need so far. Besides more OL, I'd like a LB in the 6th or 7th round for insurance.

Regarding McDowell:
SOURCES TELL US "He has a chance to be a dominant player in our league. I mean dominant. It hasn't turned on for him all the way yet but if it does, he could be like Mario Williams. He's just a little lazy and I worry about whether he is going to be a self-starter." -- NFC North area scout

Yeah I don't believe that at all. I wouldn't have been shocked if we took a QB around the 4th round but no way we were going to take one in the 1st.

Gives a good synopsis of the draft.

Draft review: Seahawks focus on toughness, trenches

I'm happy they've been focused on getting better upfront. Something this team has missed the last couple seasons.

After reading more into it, I'm on board with the McDowell pick. Pete/John compared him to Calais Campbell. Adds another dimension to the pass rush & defensive front.

I'm always happy with lineman (Pocic pick). According to them he can play anywhere on the line. Likely to play guard with the ability to also plug-in at Center, if need be.

Really like the DB selections. 2 CB's & 2 safeties which provide needed depth. Griffin (3rd pick) could potentially start sooner than later.

Also, a WR (Darboh) that could ultimately replace Kearse on the roster going forward.

Meet the new Hawks backup QB. Johnny Football was the first name that came to me after watching his highlights. Dude throws a great deep ball.

http://www.sbnation.com/2017/4/21/15352828/malik-mcdowell-scouting-report-nfl-draft-2017

Malik McDowell is ready to wreck havoc in the NFL with the Seahawks

We just might have gotten the next star D-lineman in this draft. Great read & breakdown on McDowell.

...And truth be told, I'm not sure if I was on the clock and Solomon Thomas and McDowell were still available that I wouldn't pick McDowell. I understand that McDowell's combine numbers don't blow you away the way Thomas’ did, but his tape does it for me.

Anyway, Malik McDowell is going to kick some ass in the NFL and you can beleee dat! Some may laugh at my comment about picking McDowell over Thomas today, but don't be surprised if three years from now McDowell is the more productive player. Regardless of when he is drafted, you can expect McDowell to be ready to play from day one and to keep getting better the more he plays.

McDowell's best days are ahead of him and, barring injury, I see him being a Pro Bowl type player by his third year, if not sooner...
