Wasn't a terrible pitch, possibly too cute by half, though. After Longoria chased (and barely touched) a slider 2-2, they went with a fastball that started in the same part of the plate, hoping he'd freeze. He, uh, didn't.

I'd like Grilli more if he didn't grunt like he was facing Serena Williams at Wimbledon with every pitch.

Must be so frustrating when you pitch quality starts over and over only to have no run support or to have this garbage pen throw it away

I'd like him a lot Loren if he wasn't blowing leads every time out on the mound.

Quality job by Leone here.

When's Pillar up again?
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

That throw by Travis to third was pretty amazing! Taking lessons from .50

On pace for our worst season since 1979ish. Am going to look at that teams roster as i wasn't born yet.

At least they're good at something, being bad.

Even Smoak has forsaken us.

Stroman did a decent job of hitting. Maybe our bullpen should be replaced by position players

Not far from the pace of the worst team in the history of MLB, actually. The 1916 Phillies were 36-117, for a .235 winning percentage. If we lose today, we'll have a .261 win%...at the moment, we'd slot in sixth-worst in the 1900+ era.

I'd hate to lose his bat, but Goins could be our 8th inning guy. He has experience.

Hard to say, for two reasons: one, there is roughly a Mike Trout every generation or three, and two, Mike Trout was drafted 25th overall. So if there's a Mike Trout, we might not know when the draft is happening.

We picked 20th and took Chad Jenkins
